Dr Colorchip is a great way to go, but make sure you can't just polish it out first. Does your fingernail catch edges of the scratch as you go over it? If not, the scratch is possibly not deep enough to warrant paint repair. Check out Apex Detailing's youtube channel for some great tips on scratch repair.
I confess that I was a slave to my 2005 Mustang (black paint!) and worried over every speck of dust, and just got plain irritated after awhile with my own self-imposed expectations!
The very few people who ever saw it (because I never wanted to take out into the dirty grimy world!) thought it was a brand new car, and that's a very complimentary thing, but I never really allowed myself to enjoy the car. When I sold it, I was actually relieved! I vowed to care for the Corvette, but not to the point where I couldn't just hop in it and go for a ride! Now, it will NEVER see a rain or snow, but I will enjoy it as much as I can and treat it to a fine polish when I'm done!
-It is NEVER fun to get that first blemish on your favorite or special ride!! I, for one, had been saving up for many years to get my new (to me) Corvette, and it physically hurts when something flaws its appearance. Luckily, there are remedies and tools that we get to use to bring back or maintain the finish to our satisfaction. Happy motoring!

Some here need to quit stirring the pot and egging things on. Please tone down the bickering.

I autocross. That's not all I bought the car for, but I do get cone marks that don't always polish off so easily. If I don't hit cones, I'm not really trying.

Let me guess, the dude fled the scene, or was not ticketed by police (or apprehended) when they found out he was illegal?

Religion and politics are both slippery slopes. Some people do have strong feeling about both, Sometimes frustration can slip these thoughts into a post. It does not make it right, but it happens. These slips in judgement should not be an opportunity for someone else to fan the flames of unrest in a thread, or on the forum.. I've had my share of thoughts about slipping something that could be considered controversial into a post, most times the intent was innocent, but in later years, Ive tried not to push to close to the edge. It works out better for me, the forum and for Jack.

Here's what I bought.

You can find the paint code on the build sticker inside your glove box. This comes with a little brush like a nail polish would. Maybe a little finer than that. Just be sure to match up the paint code and you're on your way.
