Boy am I an idiot! I thought I had the car pulled in to the garage far enough. Well one of the hinges caught the edge of the back bumper and put a 6 inch very thin scratch right in the outside edge of the back bumper area. DAMN!
Well that sucks. I've done that with my truck but not the Vette, "yet". Knock on wood! If it didn't get into the color coat you might be able to get most of if out.

Don't give this a second thought. You just made your car yours. These cars are things to be used and enjoyed. They feel no pain. My grandmother's (born 1899) wisdom, "that's what bumpers are for." My Corvette has lots of nicks and dings. Badges of honor. A pristine Corvette- showing no signs of use is a thing (or rather an owner) to be pitied.
Really?...I enjoy my Vette very much and it is as close to pristine as i can keep it...not perfect though....... why would you "pitty" someone for them trying to keep their Vette really nice ? thats really .I'd hate for you to be my lawyer......just sayin...
No need to take things so seriously. Thats his opinion and i share it somewhat. For me this car is used and has the normal wear and tear. I plan to drive it a lot.

Well now that's out of the way and you can begin really enjoying the car.
when I first brought my 98 home , I pulled in the garage carefully opened the door as not to hit anything with it . As I got out and turned around to get something out of it I bumped the door and it swung wide open into the snow blower ( it was Dec ) . DING ON THE DOOR ! I hadn't had possession more than 2 hours .
Every time I buy a new car, I really cannot wait until I get the first scratch/stone chip/ door ding/etc. on it. Then it becomes more fun to drive because I do not have to worry any longer to keep it perfect condition. The same thought happened with my purchase of the C5. It took 2 months for it to happen.
I did the same thing with the girlfriends van, I did not pull it in far enough so when the garage door came down it got the rear bumper. It put allot of fine scratches in it. She was not happy. If it was one of my sports cars I would have died.
Hell, I haul firewood and mulch in mine.. the nicks in my car are there to be enjoyed. I'm not a slave to my car. 20 years old and 100,000 miles of careless and uncaring transportation, those who think their car is something other than transportation are really just OCD.

So your girlfriend said you didn't put it in far enough .. just look at the screen name
