Bigger wheels
So it seems there are many people who remove the stock 17-18 inch wheels and replace with 18-19 inch wheels. As I consider a wheel change, I ask you good folks, why did you go with bigger wheels and are you glad you did? Thanks!

I've seen many posts where 18's are used all around, with staggered tire sizes front and back; I've been contemplating that route myself...

I went with 18" and 19" because these wheels only came in those sizes. I love them!

Some go with 18/19 to help fill up the wheel well, have a better selection of tires, or because the wheels they want do not come in stock sizes.
Nothing wrong with going up in size as long as you maintain an acceptable stagger front to rear.

If you're referring to the optional magnesium Speedlines (?), you could run a pair of those rears, on the front, and would then have 18's, all around. Problem is, the rears are only 18x9.5's. Running 18x9.5's at all four corners? I wouldn't want a rear wheel that narrow.

I do not care about performance, can I run bigger tires to get rid of all that clearance ? I would like tires 2 to 3 inches taller... If I can make it work OK....

I love the way my rims look, I do not like the way there is all kinds of room left over around the outside of the tires between the wheel wells. I have the stock magnesium rims.

This thread is about wider wheels, not taller tires. Start your own thread so we don't hijack this one.

You do get more choices when you go up to 18 - 19, HOWEVER, careful if you decide to go 18*12 tire choices are extremely limiting, and very pricey.
