Default 1.5 din?

Just wondering if anyone is using a 1.5 din after market radio and if so what are you using and how do you like it? Thanks!

I shopped quite a bit before I did a double din swap. There are very limited options these days. I'd save a little more and get a double din bezel if you want a decent choice!

True, I could not find a double din that I liked or any radio. Until a forum member posted about a $20 single din with bluetooth he installed and loved it. I already had the PAC system I bought 4 years ago but this radio still the best $20 I've spent, and I even made my own frame with a shelf to place my phone right above.

Yah, I made that

Hey, nothing wrong with that! I got a good deal on a cheap android double din, but I dont use half of the features it has.

No one makes a 1.5 DIN anymore. I'm tossing the idea around of just buying the metra bezel and finally just swapping to a double din.

Right now I have a PAC A-OEM-VET1, aftermarket speakers in the doors and behind the seats, and a 10" subwoofer and I'm satisifed, but I want more features... PLUS half of my radio LEDs just died, so now it's an eyesore. Pushing me ever so closer to buying the bezel lol

Interesting and right time. I'm in the "Keep Stock" vs. "Double Din" option. Costly but I like the features of going the DD route, especially with the backup cam feature. I'm mostly a XM radio guy and have that on my phone, along with the $30 FM modulator. Not the best setup, but until I make decision, it will do. Good discussion!

I went the double route, Metra panel and Kenwood radio. I now have back up camera (insurance discount)and all the bells and whistles. Happy I pulled the trigger. 200.00 for the radio and 190.00 for the Metra panel and installed it myself.

Looks like Clarion M608 could be a perfect fit into a stock dash (it has 196x86 mm hole and clarion faceplate is 196x89)... But it is way too deep, C5 will only accept 6.5 inches max depth.

I used to have a Pioneer 1.5 DIN in my 1991 GMC S-15 Jimmy. Loved that truck and loved that radio. No longer made but can be found on eBay.

Not sure why anyone would fuss with that Clarion for $380. Yikes.
