Very nice looking C5, Interior looks great as well. Definitely and eye catching color to, very rare that I see a yellow C5 where I live. I've had a few offers for my car, but I never seriously thought about selling it. I've had the car for 5 years now, bought it when I was 22. I definitely plan to hold on to it for as long as possible. A year and half ago when my daughter was born, the car would sit most of the time because I was only able to drive it like once a month. I hated not being able to take my car out. But now Im able to drive it more and I always remind myself (dont ever sell it)
Just the other day my neighbor came over while I was waxing my car and he started telling me how much he loved my car, how good it looks, and how classic it is. He told me dont ever sell it, but even if I thought about it, to make sure I let him know first.
Its worth every bit of 19K...look what you get for that amount in other cars...wouldn't compare to yours. I paid 17K for a 99 silver vert that was pretty much stock except for an intake and exhaust with 38K miles...it was spotless..so..I got what I paid for and its been great ever since. Keep it...you'll regret selling it and would probably just buy another.
For me.. Selling to a neighbor is a big mistake... Back in the day I sold my Lotus to my neighbor and slowly saw my most expensive sports car deteriorate before my eyes... Heartbreaking 😧
That's a tough choice for sure and I've been there also. I would be ashamed and asked if I was stupid if I told people what I turned down for mine. You did the right thing for you and that's what is important. Looks really nice.
It's certainly not in the same category as "The Ape". I've always admired yours, it's a beautiful car!!
I've had offers on other cars I've had before. I always think to myself, would I pay $X (the offering price) to buy this car (even if I paid or had less in it). If the answer is yes, then the car is not for sale. If the answer is no, then I just got a pocket full of cash!
I think this thread is a real life anecdotal response to the threads I've seen stating the C5 is going to be considered worthless when the C8 makes its arrival. These cars are unique, appealing, and eye catching in a way that transcends time and fashion. Your Yellow Vette is a great example of a car that has been lovingly cared for, and the worth of that is beyond whatever the latest flavor is from the average auto maker.
