Old man won!
Got my 5000SLX Quickjack delivery this morning at 9:30. At 12:30 I took these pictures.
It was tough on me but I did it. If I did it almost any woman can do it.
The Quickjack comes in three boxes and two of them are pretty dang heavy. The FedEx guy put them in my garage for me and I did the rest. Exactly three hours later I was done and ready to go lay down.
I am almost 71 and disabled but have a desire to continue to do stuff like this and work on my vehicles.
I was on the floor and getting up off the floor at least a thousand times it seemed like. Reminds me of when I thought I wanted to be a boxer when I was younger. That didn't work out.
Anyway, this tool sure will make it easier for an old man.
Santa did good for me this year!
Merry Christmas to all!

Great job! I finally got my Corvette in the air with my new quickjack. Love it! Scooch those two lifts under my Vette and away we go. I bought the permanently (well you could pry them out but why would you) attached pucks. No screwing around with the quarter turn ones. I also painted the tops of my blocks white to make centering the pucks easier. Yeah my body was really sore too after getting down on the floor and back up. The connections were really hard to put on and take off at first. Now they've loosed up after going up and down a few times. I need to top off my fluid reservoir it went down a bit after the first few lifts. I was thinking it wouldn't get my car up high enough but there's plenty of space for my needs. The only problem I had was working around my jack stands. It's locked in place so maybe that's over kill but that's what the manual says SO...I'm still waiting for my pinch weld blocks and my sweet quickjack hangers. Anyway I love this thing! I've got 4 vehicles to maintain so this will more than pay for itself. I'm too old to be pushing around a heavy hydraulic jack and pumping on that thing. I was exhausted doing all of that. This thing just slides under the car and off you go. You get the entire car up at once.
I'm going to put plastic under each lift point so I can push and pull the jacks into place easier. Again great job grandpa enjoy!
Congrats. on your new shop lift set up. I know what you mean about getting around out in the shop. I turned 69 in June and it take me a long time to get anything done. I really have to plan my work as to how many times I will be able to get down and get back up again. Now I have to wait for my meds. to kick in each morning to where I can do much of anything done.
I'm very blessed to have a large shop and a 4 post lift with your style scirror lift built into the runners. You raise the lift up to where you want it and then raise the car to an easy hight to work on it. These lifts were used in brake shops years ago.
It is still fun to work on our vettes and other cars even if it takes a little longer these days.
I have been seeing these a lot. What is a good price for these?
I see Amazon has it listed for $1300.
Yeah. Home Depot sells them a little cheaper than Quickjack themselves. I bought mine from Quickjack because they had a sale going on.
Every now and then a wholesaler like Costco has a sale on them but you have to be a member and be near a store.
It's always free freight though.
Around $1100 to 1300 is about right.
I can say it's a quality product.
Good luck!

Man, your vette looks awesome. A Beauty! And your line about being a boxer was a good one. Congrats on your early Christmas present and staying young. Keep going!
Very Nice, sounds like a great early x-mas present to you, and now with all the new friends you will be making it will be the gift that keeps on giving

I found on Quickjack's website that as long as the Quickjack is setup correctly and within weight range that jack stands are not necessary.
If you Google "is it safe to work under car with quickjack" you will find their page.
Don't rely on me. Check it out for yourself and do what you feel is safe.
Good luck!
