Hey everybody,
I have an 04 c5,
not a lot of info on motor,
I know it has a cam from Texas Speed, long tube headers, and that's it.
I believe it has the stock heads and will know for sure by next weekend.
The car is strong, cam is somewhat aggressive and same in lope.
I'm looking for a cam/head package to put car around 500 hp.

Check with some of the find forum vendors that specialize in performance upgrades. I would bet they can put something together for you that will meet, or at least come close to your stated goal. And good idea was put forth to get the car Dyno’d so you will know what you still need to do to hit your goal.

Imho, 420 whp / 500 crank hp is reasonably easy to achieve. You may be in the ballpark right now. But 500 NA whp from an ls1 is going to take some pretty serious work. Again, jmho...

440 is a reasonable goal maybe 450. max.
i am at 492 to the wheel.LS6 , big cam. little more aggressive than a stage 4, trick flow heads ported n polished.
ported tb, under drive pulley, arh and a good tune.

Dang, at 492whp, your car must be an animal. Mine makes almost 450whp, with 3.90 cogs, and it's no slouch.

450rwhp in a 3100 lb car is definitely nothing to bum out about. The cars will make you giggle like a little kid with a new toy everyone you get on it..... But there is always forced induction my friend, and it can turn the giggles into fear if your not careful when driving a C5 with that much thunder.

The obsession for 500-500+ whp in these cars is amusing. Power to weight a solid 450 to the tires is plenty for a car that 95% of owners simply street drive. I am waiting on my 383 forged shortblock and with all the work I will have; FAST 92, LS2 TB, PRC 225 As Cast 60cc heads, Torquer V2, LTs, 3” exhaust, and Vararam Intake I will still be lucky to be much over 450-460 to the tire. These cars weigh nothing, so 4-500 whp is nothing to be bummed out about. But as all have said a 500whp NA LS1 is a rare and nasty beast to be tamed if even possible.

well seeing as your in California I’d talk to the folks at A&A Corvette, their entry level kits are capable of 500whp on an otherwise stock C5. With the mods you have already I’d think 550whp would be plausible. By the way you have a fantastic looking C5! 🤙🏼😊
