Rather than risking damage to the build sheet that was attached to the car, why not buy the reproduction build sheet and the windshield sticker from the National Corvette Museum? They are just like the original sheets. The build sheet will have all of the RPO codes for whatever was installed on th car and the window sticker shows the the options that are on the and it includes the costs. It will also show the name of the dealer that received the car.
Go here https://www.corvettemuseum.org/learn...ndow-stickers/ to order either one or both. You can same some of the cost by joining the NCM before you order. The membership dues for the Museum are 100% tax deductible as a charitable contribution.

Factory build sheets for C5 Vettes are stuffed into the front frame crossmember on the drivers side. They are a PITA to get out because you have to remove the front fascia to access the open end of the crossmember. Mine was in bad shape when removed - water damage.
Thanks to bjones7131 for the link for a free build sheet as suggested in his post. GM Social Media sent a build sheet pdf in a few hours and apologized for it taking so long! I now have a build sheet to accompany the original window sticker for my 03 Z.

It’s on the drivers side front. Simply remove the front bumper and the styrofoam. It would take maybe an hour and it's rolled up and in great shape aside from a layer of dust.
Here's mine. You can see the piece of masking tape the factory used to stick it to the car as it went down the line. My car was further disassembled in this picture because I was doing a major project. I put the build sheet in a ziplock bag along with my contact information (so a future owner could contact me) and put it back in place.

Thanks for the info you provided. I sent an email at 9:30 last night and had a response almost immediately. Only problem is that it is a list of the codes (Like what's in the trunk) only with a description along with it. It's not like the one that is used on the assembly line. Thought I would mention that in case anyone was hoping for a free copy of the production line one.
Save your lunch money and spring for the laminated one from NCM. And while you're at it get the window sticker too. You won't be sorry... Got both for my '98...
I have my original (!) window sicker and it is in great shape! But I do want my build sheet... are these two different things?
Yes, two different items. The build sheet is the information for the assembly line to know which options and accessories go into the car as it passes down the line. You can get yours at the NCM web site. Here's the link:
