Window actuator prices?
I used to work at a corvette-only repair shop and we bought 10 at a time around $32 each. Never once in years did a single one come back bad. Buy window regulators cheap.
It is a can design , so residue from the worn bruises piles up and shorts out the contacts, sooner or later , so you get a lot of advice to just pound on the door to restore function.
OEM is always the first ones to break, they are there first., I don't think I caught that meaning correctly. OEM has a lot more money on the line, to keep the defective return rate low and function high, than any aftermarket part..
I take the advice gained at a corvette seminar, to always buy GM parts, unless price is a problem. Of course these guys were top award winning restorers, so had a different perspective on things than a repair mechanic, but still suffer the same potential for returns eating up all the profits on a job pretty quickly.
It's a nice clean job, just be careful with the plastic clips that might be brittle with age. I have a convertible , so really didn't want to mess with any glass adjustments. I did a lot of reaching and working blind. No problem, even with big hands. The motor and screw drive came out easily, but I had to screw the motor back into the drive, since I didn't know what I was doing. The travel stops are automatic, no need to re adjust with a new motor.
be well.
