You're very welcome sir. The agreed value on the C7 was $55,000 with Grundy at $890 a year. You can make the agreed value whatever you want. I may check into NCM. If anyone has NCM please chime in.
I have NCM on two of my C5s and on my Talon TsiAWD. I pay just over $1400 a year with agreed values of $40K, $25K, and $25K. I haven't had a claim yet so I can't speak on how they would handle it. I'm seriously considering going to Hagerty because it's a tad cheaper and they seem to have less restrictions.
So I did it yesterday ! I switched both Corvettes to NCM. Both cars are only $514 !! I could not believe it. The other way I had them it was1300. I did choose the lowest mileage tier at 1,000 for now. (I only put 9,000 miles on the C5 in 12 years.) IAnd.. it's not like you can really drive anywhere with this pandemic and I can up the mileage if I choose. Thanks for everyone's help in suggesting them.
So .... Here a CRAZY TWIST to this whole C7 purchase. After listening to everyone's opionions on here and actually feeling ill for 2 days over letting my supercharged C5 go, many things went through my head like all of the good times that were spent building this car and racing everything under the sun along with the overall love for the sound and performance of this car. I have literally been sick to my stomach for 3 days about letting the car go. I have never felt this way about another vehicle in my life. Not even a Camaro I owned for 20 years that was highly modified. Either way, I do not want to tamper with a brand new car afterall and void any of the warranty. And I really don't feel like trying to explore new power combinations for the C7 at this point. And yes, it is refined, like a Cadillac. I do agree on that part to a degree. However, It is fine the way it is and is certainly better than the 2 Mitsu Eclipses that I traded. So this morning with my stomach tied in knots, I wrote a note to myself : "Get YOUR F*CKN CAR BACK".
I then called the dealer and told him I'd like it back and why. (This is the 3rd and final day I have to decide whether to keep the C7, btw.) The dealer was actually happy to do so being that he knows nothing about the car. So I jumped in my suv and ran down there. I got beat for some tax but who the hell cares. I HAVE MY BABY BACK. AND NOW I CAN BE AT PEACE. No one is getting my race car. I now own a C5 and a C7. God Bless
Thats a good move. I had a C7 before I bought my C5. The C7 was everything you said it was....it had big block power with an awesome stereo and the cool led screen display. (Mine wasn’t really as fancy as yours is though). For all of those reasons I miss the C7.......but my C5 Z06 is cool in ways that the C7 isn’t. You can feel the chassis through your butt and the steering wheel, you can feel what the limited slip is doing as you power through a curve, and the gearing for the manual transmission feels more “smooth”, let’s say.
I would like to buy another C7 eventually, but I probably won’t sell my C5 to get one.
