I had all 4 GY go at 11000 twice. And yes I was in my 40s when I bought my car new and drove it like it was meant to be driven. To get 30 out of a set of GYs. Did you ever put your right Foot into it?
As an ex-suspension development engineer for one of the Big Three, I can assure you I don't mess around. BUT I do not do burn outs or any other stupidities. Smooth and fast is how I drive - that way tire and brake wear are minimized, while getting from A to B very quickly. Catch a video of Jackie Stewart driving - it seems very gentle until you see his lap times.

While I generally agree with what you are saying sometimes doing burnouts is just fun and hilarious. That being said. I have never done a true smokey burnout in my C5 because I figure at this power level with a reasonably grippy 295 tire I am at good odds to be one of those jackasses that does a nice smokey clutch burnout.
I was at the TR warehouse in DE on Friday to get mine. Because of corona - parts of the supply chain are broken and they did not have availability "for pickup" of the BFG's I was looking at. Wound up with Continental - first time and we'll see how it goes. Also glad I called them - the sales guy talked me into a "less aggressive size". Firment is on the attached TWS wheels I picked up from Roy in VA later that day Once everything is on will make a post in the "wheel and tire" sticky...
had these tires, 295 x 20 on my C7. these are great tires i found. will put them on my C5Z also when the time comes.
jmho
What do people run for track days on a stock setup? I'm currently on Ventus V12's, but was looking at something a bit more track oriented for my next tire.

Hankook RS4 255 front 285 rear would be a good all around setup I think for a street tire.
These cars are not great on rear tires. I've had sets from 3 different companies and have never gotten more than 11000 miles out of the rears. 2 sets of GY, 2 sets of Kumho's. I have run Michelin but haven't put that many miles on.
You burn them down every stop sign and light ?
have 305 kuhmos and we drive aggressive every weekend, have 13k mi on them and good for at least another 10
I went with the hankook v12 evo 2. They were the best deal on tire rack & I needed new tires asap. Hopefully they'll last more than 10k miles lol.
Josh , you will enjoy those tires , they are very quiet , I just changed my tires to Continental Extreme only because I went Square 18's all around and they don't make the Hankooks in the size I was looking for. They are very good in the summer rain storms here in Miami , back when my car was a daily driver I never had issues driving in the rain. good grip.
