Default TPS header review

Just put a set of TPS rpm headers and their catless mid pipe on my 99 C5 so wanted to give a review for anyone looking to do headers. First off the welds were all great and complete, the flanges are nice and thick very well made product. The fitment is perfect and the install was nice and easy they both fed up from the bottom nicely just had a few wires to fish around. Definitely a 2 person job and a lift is very helpful but could be done on jack stands. A couple key things for the install are 1- install the drivers side O2 sensor before you connect the header to the engine there's no room once it's up in place, the passenger side I was able to do with it bolted on. Also if you're keeping the AIR pump like I did you have to cut the passenger side tube and extend it with a rubber hose, not a big deal in my opinion. Didn't have to remove anything but the alternator, and coil packs to get em in which made me very happy and the job easy. Other than those 2 things it was straight forward and went pretty smooth. Last is the price, I got 1 7/8" headers ceramicoted, plug wire heat boots, 3" mid pipe, all the hardware, new oil dipstick tube (didn't use it though was able to keep the stock tube), gaskets, clamps (which seem good quality), and they throw in a free oil catch for 1394.99$ shipped to my door. Compared to the cost of LGs with no ceramicote they are an awesome deal! Noticed a good mid range and top end power increase with no tuning done yet. Couldn't be happier and highly recommend these! Packaging was great, all the parts were there, all in all very solid quality product at a great price.

Good review and should be helpful to others thinking about those headers. It is always nice when parts can be easily installed.

I had the same positive experience. Gaskets they sell are junk so just get GM MLS gaskets. Otherwise, amazing fitment and they tuck up high even though I went 1 7/8" version.

How long ago did you do em? Mine came with the stock 3 layer compression gaskets and so far seal tight

I did them April 2019. I did not specify for them to come with GM MLS gaskets, however you CAN option them that way.

OP, how is your air pipe connection holding up that you modified? Is the rubber tube holding up to the high temperature? I'm having the same issue, as TPS put the air pipe tube on a different runner than the factory manifold for some reason. Outside of that, everything else went in pretty smooth

It’s an easy fix just cut your stock tube in the middle and use a rubber line in between to extend it. I’ve had no issues whatsoever other than with B&B’s in the back I had to dyna mat the entire car so I can hear the stereo 😂

Exactly what I ended up doing. I used hi-temp silicone, no issues so far. The headers and tune really made a noticeable difference, and they sound fantastic
