I put a wireless rear view camera as well as a low mounted front camera (below the front fascia, below the fogs) in my car and the wireless worked flawlessly with no delay, and avoided running wires through holes drilled through the rear and into the passenger compartment led up to the screen. Just tap into the backup light for the trigger, easily accessible under the license plate. The front camera was invaluable to avoid running the air dam up over those concrete blocks at parking spaces. I had a switch to change between the two views. The whole system cost me less than $45 from components on the auction site. All of the components inside fit in or under the sides of the front console.
