I got these used here in the parts for sale forum. They had some minor rash and just needed a good polishing. Thought I would show them off!! Ive wanted a set of these for a long time. Just couldn't bring myself to pay a new price. It will be a while before I have the funds for tires, but as soon as I get them mounted I will def. post pics. I feel confident I could get the rest of the rash out with a little more sanding, but im happy with they way they look now and DAMN.....it was a lot of work to get them to this point. Haha.
Looking good! I bought a set of used 18” & 19” CCW 505A’s awhile back that needed some work too. I sanded them in stages with 600, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000, and finally 5000 grit before finishing them using Adams #1 and #2 metal polish. Didn’t know they were so expensive these days.
Nice work. Considering that those wheels are now over $5K, new, you got an excellent deal.
Thanks. Yeah it was a really good deal. Im not sure how I will feel about the 20s on the rear. I will decide once they are mounted. They may go up for sale at some point so I can just go with 19s on the rear.

holy crap those look amazing!!! I guess I have more work to do!!!! My final stage is 2000 at this point. Looks like I need to take things a couple steps further!!!
Been enjoying my set since 2012. However, owning polished aluminum wheels is a labor of love. The good news is any small curb kiss or rash can be wet sanded and polished out.
I use so many other of the great Adams products that I ought to order their polish too. But first I want to do the Shine Seal when I do them this year. Right now they're back on my daily taking abuse, but they're so far gone it doesn't matter. I will bring them all the way back for the Z though.
I had gone to 3000 last time and then hit then with I think blue magic or mother's mag and it was good. But it can definitely be better. I know I found out that White Diamond does not do nearly as good a job.

Time will tell.
Install a pair of 305/30/20's and you will be good to go.
I did it all by hand. But I worked on the wheels on-and-off for well over a year before taking them to my tire shop shop for mounting the Michelin 4S summer tires. MSG C5 is absolutely correct - - maintaining polished aluminum wheels is definitely a labor of love. My C5 was a daily driver until I retired 3 years ago. I waited until then to put the CCWs on it so I could better pick and choose when to take it out and minimize upkeep.

Removing the wheels and giving them a good polish is one thing. However Forum member Toque took it to another level back in 2016 when he worked up from 320 grit to get rid of the forging lines from the original manufacturing process....
