I’m installing a Mighty Mouse catch can on my 2001 base. The PCV valve is right at the end of the hose that connects to the intake. This causes you to have to loop the hose back around to the catch can. It’s also got that funky ground strap bolted to the steam vent line.
Does the PCV valve have to stay if you install a catch can? Truthfully I snapped the plastic line and I dont want to buy a whole new assembly.

Ideally, the catch can will be mounted away from the heat source (your engine) to allow the cooler surfaces in the can to more effectively trap oil droplets. Of course, if you typically park your car in subfreezing weather, then keeping the can warm map prevent moisture from freezing.
Ive got the mild version. I’ve got the paperwork that came with it but it doesn’t say anything about removing the PCV valve. I cut the plastic tube back and moved the valve to a different location so I could route the hose more to my liking.
