I’d love to get my hands on a set of T84 E-codes. I have to believe they’re night and day better.
I had a set of retrofitted ACAs and they were amazing until you hit a bump, or a washboard road, or your car sat for more than 6 hours.
My HIR have been flawless.

I started off just using LEDs in the stock housing. However, I have since upgraded to the ACA Bi-Xenon HID kit from Sharp Light Innovations. I also have the complete DRL upgrade kit from them as well. This is a night and day difference over stock headlights. I am now able to see very well at night. Laser LED rear side markers, and halo LED tail lights (as well as LED reverse lights) make sure that others can easily see me too no matter what angle they're approaching me from.

It's outright dangerous to drive a C5 at night... plus it is medically harmful to one's eyes... Me? Think extreme eye strain with damage.... And GM dose nothing.... How many C5 built? Over 200,000 sight less folks driving at night! Thanx Dave for dropping us in the craper.
Warning, do not drive the C5 at night.

Sure, the headlights are poor compared to a modern car. In the mid-90s when the C5 was designed, there wasn't much better out there.

I've done quite a bit of night driving with my car and with my 62 year old eyes and the stock headlights work just fine for me although I typically don't drive much more than 5 miles an hour over the posted speed limits. Some mistake brightness for better- the focus of the beam is actually more important and I think the engineers likely got it right the first time.

I purchased the Sylvania SilverStar Ultra High Performance Halogen bulbs 9005 and 9006. I then purchased the Hi-4 harness from Sharp Light Innovations to allow lows and highs on together. Plus, I took some time to ensure the aim was correct. Stuck with the halogens as to not potentially blind oncoming traffic with LEDs.
I am hugely pleased with the difference.
Low Beams only.
High Beams only.
Both Low and High Beams after Hi-4 harness install.

Then email him and get a set of his shrouded HIR bulbs. You'll be much happier. It's the best thing you can do without changing the housings.

Well... At least C5 folks with with bad GM headlights don't have the C7 with really bad GM wheels!... It's time GM gets repercussions for dropping us in the crapola. Today's news "C7 wheel" headline sorta spoils their reputation... I'm disappointed with that company. Of course they don't give a ****.

Or the people with Ford transmissions that lunch themselves
Or the people with Kia engines that blow
Or the people with Nissan transmissions that blow up
Or Subaru transmissions that blow up
Or Toyota frames that rot out from under the trucks
Or...
or...
or...
They're machines. Built by humans. They break. Things aren't perfect. Every manufacturer has quality control issues with suppliers and parts. It's part of the game. Doesn't matter what it costs - it's a machine.
