Not a frequent poster, upon searching didn't find any info on here. Discovered that Ridetech has made brackets and adapted Fox monotube dampers with adjustable rebound to the C5. I have ordered a set but was told it would be a few weeks before they ship as Fox shocks are shipping slow due to the pandemic. Anyone have these?? Will report back once I install mine.

Do a search in the C5 Parts for Same section - use Ridetech as the keyword. There have been a few FS thread on Ridetech products - and contacting the seller may give you the info you seek.
I can't speak to eliminating the ride control, but changing the shocks really isn't too bad.
Plenty of 'tube vids to get you started. Pay attention to how to jack it up! Set it on jack stands with suspension hanging down as far as possible.
On the rear disconnecting the "tie rod" really made it easier for me. Don't forget to hook it back up!
I was able to collapse the old shocks by hand to remove them, there are ways to collapse the new ones on the vids.
There is a tool available to hold the upper rod while you remove the nut, I just used vise-grips on the old ones, and tried using a open end wrench (7mm?) without success, but a small crescent wrench worked fine.
