Default Mid-Engine C5 T-70

Hinson short motor mounts showed up today, pan is now about as low as you can go with a stock bat-wing. Bell housing has 5” ground clearance now.
belly pan has 3.75” ground clearance behind front tires, about 4.5” ground clearance forward of rear wheels.

Foot-box taking shape

Should have this laid-out & pilot drilled pretty quickly. I’m trying to set forward toe-board location now. I’m starting with 4” between rack & toe-board for master-cylinder clearance.

Default 4/2023 C5 T70 updates

finished the garage over winter so I can back to my project.

I have tub and bodywork in the location that I want it now. The contour of the sidepods is still wrong but nothing the old highspeed and some fiberglass won’t fix.

Why do you keep starting new threads versus continuing in one, so people can see progress? People subbed to your other thread.

Personally, I like the update Thread showing just the progress. Having to scowl down to the last update is a pain on an on-going Thread. JMHO.

Cool project.

Finished trimming & bent-up side panels.

Drilled up angles & forward toe-board, piloted everything #30’s

Toe-box is square & tight! I’m pretty happy with the outcome.

Main floor is mostly completed now, from pedal-box all the way to rear crossmember.

Little better shot of forward area.

With the cab & sidepods reinstalled, you can get an idea of the interior.

Cab sits about an inch above foot-box. Forward panel is 4” aft of the steering rack.

Moved on to fabricating Tombstone on each side of the sidepods.

Starting with 2024-T3 .080” like the floor. These will be rear-cab attach points along with the job of closing out engine compartment from the cab.

Just amazing your knowledge and skills in this project. With the pics, did you make a video of your work? Would be great to see on one of the car programs.

Thank you for sharing this project with us.
