Thanks Vetteman Jack and cool555. Sure getting a lot of positive feedback. Found out that the QuickJack 500 actually lifts about 17 inches, but if you add the truck adapter you should
get close to a 23 inch lift.
Cheers,
Mark
I never knew quick jack existed before I joined this forum. I bought a 5000slx because of the Corvette. It's so much easier than a jack and jack stands on Corvettes. I do all of my own work and use it regularly. I don't think it's heavy, but I don't pick them up I roll them on the wheels they come with. I store the quick jacks under my took box. I have a big tool box. I like the truck adapter idea, I think I'll use those when the time comes to do the clutch. My car is stock height so I use the tall rubber blocks along with the aluminum installed jacking pucks.
I’ve got the BL-5000SLX. I’ve lowered my C5 on VMS Lowering bolts. I have to drive up on 1x10s before I can slide the lifts under the car. But I’ve got to do the same to get a low profile race jack under it. I also use the quickjacks for oil changes and maintenance on my wife’s and daughters cars. They’re super handy and if you can get them on sale I think they’re worth it. Just one more thing taking up space in the garage most of the time.
Thanks for the reply got2hav1. Can you store the hoses separately after each use? I'd leave the QuickJack in my carport but I'd like to remove the hoses to make theft less likely.
Cheers,
Mark
I leave it coupled all the time. but they do have quick coupling connections at each end of the hoses. You can disconnect and store .
I bought a set shortly after buying my C5.I don't use the rubber blocks they give you on the Vette. I put four pieces of 2x6 wood blocks in the space where the blocks go. Therefore I have no clearance problems when I place the jacks under the car .I just line the pucks up with the blocks. Works perfect. They are very heavy!!. I also bought the wall bracket hangers and its not easy lifting them off the brackets. Other than that they work great. I highly recommend them
Picked up the 7000 model from Home Depot during Black Friday in 2020 and love it. It's great for oil changes and awesome to get all four tires off at once for cleaning/detailing. I am limited on height in the garage, if I had no height restriction I might have looked into the Maxjax.
I found an awesome video that shows a fairly cheap way to add small casters to make the QuickJacks much much easier to maneuver.
Being a mechanic by trade I knew what I need or wanted to use on those fittings. All were done out of the box with Blue Monster thread tape. It's triple duty over that white tape hardware store stuff. Zero leaks since built.
Thank you sir! I'll have to find some of that. I should have known better than to use the liquid crap with no English on the bottle that came in the box
Not a lift like a four post, mine i just sold with my other Kwik lift If you want working height it will not help you. And the hoses and the storage was not a plus!
I love mine. I have a 5000SLX and it'll lift my Vette, my wife's Infiniti and our 68 Cougar. They are heavy but so is a floor jack and 4 jack stands, so it all works out. I got mine from Home Depot last year for $1,049. Keep your eyes peeled and they go on sale every year around October and are available at Home Depot and Costco for Less than $1,100.
I've been using them for about 2 years now. No real complaints other than they are heavy for what they are. I have found the most convenient for me is to just leave them on the floor and shove one under a car and the other up against a wall on the floor. If I had to pick them up every time and put them away I would probably get annoyed enough to not use them.
I put my C5 on them at least once a month and a few other occasional cars at time.
NewFoundPower I would say the minimum height is approximately 3 3/4"
I give them a 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Thanks for the reply, glad it's working out for you!
I checked the ground clearance on my car and it's right at 3" front and rear. The pics below are measured just aft of the front wheel and forward of the rear wheel.
Based on these, it seems that I would not be able to get my car onto the QuickJack without body damage. If anyone disagrees or has experience with a car this low please let me know. It's a huge pain for me to get the car off the ground front and rear, so I'd love to know if there's a quicker solution other than a full size lift (not an option for me).

Make 4 wood platforms you can drive on to get an extra inch or two.

Thanks for the reminder that Costco is another source.

Does not take the car high enough to justify the cost! A low profile jack is the way to go . You can buy two and have a friend and you jack at the same time and get same results at half the price!

Thanks fake but I've already put in my order.

You won't regret it. While jackstands are indeed cheaper and can get the car up higher, the QJ feels much safer plus you can easily lower or raise your car as needed without having to shuffle around jackstands
Thanks for the reply, glad it's working out for you!

As a few of us have already said, just pull the car up on wood platforms first. 4 small pieces of 2x4 is all you really need. Many of us are lower than that with no issues. It's not that you risk "body damage", it's that the lifts won't lift a load from the lowest position. It needs about a half inch to move before it will lift the car.

Bold of you to assume we have friends... Jokes aside, why do you need a friend to help you get your car up with jacks? If I had to call a friend to come help me jack up my car every time I needed/wanted to work on it, I would sell that car pretty quickly lol. You can also pull your entire drivetrain using a Quickjack, how much higher do you need it to go?
