I took my son to a get together last Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway (Import Alliance). I figured we’d be the only American muscle there but wasn’t. We had a great time until time to leave and pull key wait 10 seconds and then column steering lock popped up and wouldn’t move. I read forums while I was there and seen it was a recall which recall has been done, just didn’t have the LMC5 installed smh. I ordered the part while waiting on the wrecker to come get us. Cost me a ton to get it towed, and made me sick seeing it on a wrecker not owning it but for less than a month. I’m going to look at some other threads to see typical issues but, is there any that anybody knows right off hand I need to look for so I don’t get stranded over a $50 part again?

Hasn't been as common of a problem but consider bypassing the resistor check on the key

Once you get it mobile again, consider getting the fuel shutoff tuned from the 2 mph GM puts in to 200 mph or higher. That way if it does happen again you'll be able to drive it still.

Talk about bad luck. Once you have the LMC5 installed, that will take the column lock out of your worries. Not many other things that are common problems that will leave you stranded.

I’m guessing you have a manual trans, so locking out the skip shift is easy.

Definitely keep the clutch master fluid clean. Dirty fluid seems to eat up slave and master cylinders.
