I can’t imagine putting one of my favorite cars away for the winter
Best wishes tho
For those of us who reside in regions where there is considerable snow, therefore liberal amounts of road salt used, storing the car is a FAR better alternative to watching it rust away......

Yes, a very good idea. I add a good dose of stabilizer to my car, then take it for an extended ride. I then take off my "good" wheels and summer tires off the car, and put the OE wheels, with the 20 year old OE tires on it, and then put the cover on it.

Its great, every Spring I get literally a brand new car to drive! Its like it just came off the showroom floor! Actually its better than show room condition!
To all the others, thank you, Yes, fuel stabilizer put in on last 3/4 fill up Wednesday after oil change. Bought brand new Bounce dryer sheets, yesterday. Still have the irish spring I'll break up and also bought from Tractor supplier rodent repellent. Just finished baking the water out of the CC moisture absorbing pouches, I put in three in the car. I plug the exhaust pipes with socks. And the car sits on horse stall rubber mats to keep out the moisture. Yes, its a garage queen.
And during the winter I lift the hood of my DD after driving home from work to artificially heat the garage. I must have missed something????
I consider a car something to enjoy for work, on vacation, or for a joy ride. Although I live in the Mid Atlantic region that has many days without snow/salt/ice in the winter that I do drive the Vette, I would also do in the heavy snow states if I lived there if there. A car to me is like a having a article of clothing that you love to wear. But sitting in the closet is not enjoying it. But each to their own thoughts on 'wearing'.
Keep it clean and uncovered so I can at least look at it all winter. Sometimes I take a seat and admire the C5'S Beauty! Don't forget a battery tender!

PS Of course the battery tender was already on!
When you say 3/4 fill up, do you mean the car had 1/4 tank when you filled up, or that the car had 3/4 tank when you filled up. I ask because if you weren't below half a tank when you filled up, then the fuel stabilizer did not mix with all of your fuel as the car has 2 fuel tanks.

Leadfoot- - I’m thinking it’s just bad weather, I forgot about the road salt

I’ve felt the same way when I got new tires, or driving my Corvette after it’s been sitting a while. Almost feels like a new toy
