Finally got my QJ 5000TL. Ended up using some steel stock similar to @AtkRWC above. I'm curious how much movement all of you have when at maximum lift height. How much for/aft bounce (front to back rocking) do you have if you repeatedly lift up and push down the front or rear?

I’m looking at a similar issue myself.. Bought the QJ5000TLX which is now too long and this looks like an amazing solution! Do you have any finished pictures and or specs on the steel thickness and what welding you did?

thanks in advanced!!

I do this with my 5000TLX. The steel plates are just free floating. I put down painters' tape to keep them from sliding just to be safe, but they don't slide anyway due to the weight of the car. No need to weld anything. You can also safely lift the car with the lifts perpendicular to the car without using steel plates. Just make sure nothing is close to the side of the car (cabinets, storage, junk, etc.) because it lifts the car up and over to the side.

I use 1/2" steel plates, one for each lift point. Not welded or fixed in place and it works great. They move a little when the car is being lifted/lowered as the suspension binds slightly but it's not much or enough to concern me. Car is more stable on the plates than with the lift blocks in my opinion. Only modification I might do is weld on some keystock or something similar to the bottom of the plates to keep them aligned on the QJ frame.

I modified some rubber blocks to lift my C5 with the 5000TL lifts. Very secure at max lift.

What I did was cut a square out of one side to fit over the bar that separates the tray blocks would fit in and the frame.
