what is your builder recommending as break in? mine said 15-20 complete heat cycles. ie minimum 20-30min driving to get it to full temp, then 8+hrs to allow full cool down. heat tempering the gears. Made sense. My new gears are dead silent. PO hadn't broken in the previous gears properly and they whined pretty bad.
Breaking them in did take a while... and had to practice restraint, true

That's one thing I loved about the earlier Vettes, like the C3. Optional engines, optional gears, etc. Of course, there was no C.A.F.E. then, so..... Other than the fact GM must meet the current C.A.F.E. standards, you have to wonder why the C5s and later cars weren't available with the 3.73, 3.90, and 4.10. With the double OD gears in the 6 speed manuals, you'd think fuel economy would still be very good. I can kind of understand why they wouldn't be available on the A4s. But youd think they could have made the 3.15 gear standard (rather than the 2.73), and made the 3.42 diff the option "performance gear. I don't know, I just think this is one place GM kinda dropped the ball........

My wife is good for a few big rips of the throttle. Then I get the "okay babe that's enough".

Interestingly enough mine "enjoyed the car much more with the 4.10s. It isn't all bucky in parking lots or at stop signs". She said something similar with the procharger. "Vette drives really nicely now when you get into the gas. It's much faster but it's a lot smoother". I like it."

I scored me an outlier. She's a keeper.

mines the same a few 130 pulls she’ll say that’s enough or if a charger or mustang try to race she’ll say don’t do it

I got a kick out this. Mine says "I see what you are doing or planning to do...is that other car fast? Just get it over with already"

We've taken a few bikes out as well. She tends to enjoy bike sniping.

Mine just wants a heads up if I'm going to get into it. I don't really go "fast", I just like 1st, 2nd and a little into 3rd.

As far as racing she's all on board.

Man I tried not to eat it but it was gone after like 10 minutes.

My guy heat cycled mine a few times before I picked it up and I did a few more times. Have to go back next Friday and have the fluid changed. 500 miles

I don't hear any whine or other strange noises so I guess I'm good to go.

Maybe your car isn't there yet. But as long as they're still making prochargers there's still time!

I've never owned a busa. I've debated it on occassion but I never ride my VMax anymore, so another bike I don't ride in the stable always gets outvoted. There's always a chance though.

No whine and she drives fine you're likely good. I've had two 4.10 diffs in the C5 I've held onto. Both broken in and heat cycled. Neither one whined or had any issues. I did grenade them both at the track but the first one wasn't my fault. Second one definitely my fault. A bit too anxious on the clutch dump. It did serve me well for over 6 years though..

Ring and pinion and DSS hardened output shafts. OEM clutch packs and springs.

Here is another pic of the diff and gear carnage. The diff was great for 6 years. I caused this with an over anxious high RPM clutch dump at Island Dragway. I just got dumb. I also should have had C6 Z06 clutch packs and springs added at the time the diff was built. Life lesson..
