I think the base wheels are ugly but the anniversary c8 wheels look great
No.. The wheels are not ugly... There is nothing that is ugly about the C5 Corvette...especially the 1998 Corvette C5 wheels of that period.... Now the C8 is a story of a different elk regarding the wholly leaking wheel phenomena so familiar with the modern GM.... thing.

The "leaking wheel phenomenon", as you put it, is predominantly the C7 widebody units, not C8's.
1997-99 wagon wheels are butt-ugly, to most people. If they weren't, a set of them couldn't be purchased for $100, these days.
I'm starting to see more and more C5's and C6's, with C8 wheels. It's obvious doing so is not rocket science, contrary to what some people believe.

It also has propensity done poorly of looking Cheap and showing quickly which ends up costing more.
Following the crowds can generally mislead you but everyone is enabled to choose their best life.

Following the crowd is something many Corvette owners are very prone to do, unfortunately.

You are surely one of few people I've ever heard say they like those early wagon wheels.

Fact, the cracked/leaky wheel is a C7 widebody car wheel issue.

Like em sure... Well if they're plated over the aluminum with chrome.... Otherwise I gotta agree...not plated they're sorta like an unfinished symphony... but not Beethoven for sure... More like Dizzy Gillespie goes to Woodstock.
