"Way back when", during the time that Fichtner Chevrolet was a CF sponsor, and my C-5 was new, they were selling the AC Delco "synthetic" filters, and selling them in cases quantities of 12. That's what I initially used on my C-5. Time passed, Fichtner closed, my stock of those filters was used up, and since then, I've used K&N, Mobil1, and currently Purolator BOSS filters.
Wix makes NAPA gold, so they're the same filter. IMHO, as good as, or better than, any filter available. I switched to Wix when I discovered NASCAR engine builders run them.......

Take the Wix number, remove the leading "5" and you have the NAPA Gold number, so Wix 51042 becomes NAPA 1042.
