For those of you like me that don't ever use the sun visors and they are just an eyesore with floppy ears. There is also the visor delete option. Which you'll be amazed at how much cleaner the interior/ windshield looks without the visors. You also gain some visibility if you are a taller person.
I would never go back to having visors in a C5. I always have a pair of sunglasses in the car any way and visors obstruct too much visibility when they are flipped down.
I considered those for the Z06 as it has a four inch tint strip across the top of the windshield in addition to the factory bluing.
Still, we have enough hills here which place the setting sun directly on the horizon that they are probably worth keeping.
I've not run into any instances where the visor was a value add over a pair of Ray-Bans or Persols but I hear you. My wife likes using visors as a passenger and me being tall I despise when they are flipped down in any vehicle if I'm driving.
I run mirrored / polarized gatorz in wraptor and magnum. They're good because they are dark while being exceedingly clear. But with light eyes (I've always been more sensitive to light than others) sometimes the visor is the key. I have driven uphill straight into the sun before and you can't press your head any further into the roof to escape the veil of blindness. For those occasions (used to be common leaving my folks' place in the winter) the visor has been worthwhile.
