Walmart batteries are the answer. There are very few companies like Johnson Controls that make batteries in this country. They change the label for different brands but they are almost all the same except for marketing and warranty. My last few C5 batteries purchased a few years ago and I got change back from my hundred dollar bill. I put a liner under it but never had one leak.

The PO installed a Walmart Group 78 battery in my car. I had pulled it out (while it was still good) and installed the current Group 78 AGM battery, but kept the Walmart on the shelf in the garage as a backup. It came in handy this past summer.

While Walmart used to use mostly Johnson Controls (I believe it was over 80% of the US go them), I would make sure to look at the label on the batteries. I know the last 2 places I lived they no longer have JC on the shelf. Also, their warranties have changed.
And JC used to make over 90% of batteries sold in the US under different labels.

Not a fan of Optima since they produce their products in Mexico. Their batteries have been hit and miss since ever since then. I'd either go with the cheapest agm battery you can get or go with an Odyssey 34/78.
