Michelin run-flats.+3 ZP here. 25 years on run flats and they work for me. You will hear a lot of reasons not to run run-flats. Very few will tell the the real reason. They cost too much. Pay big money for wheels and buy the cheapest tires. Just saying
On my 04 I'm now well into my 2nd set of Nitto Invos. I drive a lot in the rain and I find these to be great in both the dry and the wet.
Oh one other thing ...... some folks have reported flat spotting issues with some models of Nitto tires. My C5 lives outdoors year round. Last week after the snow and Ice it got down to approx 15F ... no flat spot issues with these.

Makes lotta sense.. Drive a Corvette and You want cheap? You could buy a Hugo, or a YouGo or a Pryus or what ever pos disposable car and where the tyres are always on sale at 69.95 plus tax..... Michelin tires are in the excess of two hundred bucks... If one can't afford it... Drive slow! 😂
I run with the Michelin Run flats and if not available would buy the Goodyear Equivalent.
1 flat on the Hiway with a Non run flat tire would require a Roll back Tow truck.
That being said Cheap tires + 1 Towing bill =? wear's the savings?
Not like you have a spare tire up under that beast or in the trunk! or at the House.
No their not the stickiest BUT I am not racing on the street or the Track. .
I moved away from run flats not because of the cost but overall ride comfort and road noise. I want to hear the engine, not the hum of the stiff tires.
You know, it’s your car you do what works for you. But year after year we hear all kind of excuses why you shouldn’t buy run flats. And a lot of it is from people that have not used the newest versions.
Having three C5s, I've used a lot of different tire manufacturers. I currently have Michelin, Continental, and Nitto tires on the C5s. Without a doubt, the Michelin tires are the best. In 2nd place are the Continental tires. In a distant 3rd are the Nitto tires.

I am not sure if I have been lucky or if you have been unlucky, but I do not recall ever having a Corvette (or other performance car), where the tires were noisier than the engine. This includes running the early generations (C1, C2, C3), on bias ply or bias belted tires, or C4s on radial tires or the C5 on run-flat radials.
I do not believe I have ever driven a C5 on non run-flat tires so I will concede I cannot speak to a ride comfort difference. However, I believe our current C5 is the most comfortable riding Corvette we have driven, even on a little stiffer suspension than stock. (If you want a firm ride, try an ‘84 with the Z51 suspension. My dentist loved it - I was constantly losing fillings. 😎 ).
And, as others would say, we should each prep our Corvettes the way WE chose and if non run-flats are the way we want to go, we should.

Has anybody tried these: BF Goodrich G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S PLUS tires? Definitely looking for an all season so I can drive longer here in North Central Ohio

I’m definitely going to get these for my next set this year - have them on my CTS coupe and love the “fat” tread look which is why I want them - they are super wide tread width for the sizes. Find me a tire wider than the original runflats - there aren’t any other than this one at least I can find.🤷🏻♂️
Nice grip tire - in dry and even in med snow. Reasonable cost - but they only last about 20K….at least on the CTS (285 rear - 20’s)

Living in northern Ohio there are four (4) issues with trying to extend the driving season for the Corvette. The first is obviously the tire itself (what this thread is all about). I run Michelin summer only tires, so once the temps going below 40-45 degrees she stays parked in the garage. This is to both keep the tires from being damage as well as the rubber itself having greatly diminished grip on the cold and probably damp pavement. Something like a Continental DSW-06 Plus or Michelin All Season 4 would be excellent non-run flat a/s tire choices for the C5 to help extend the driving season - around here maybe a few weeks at either end of the season. Testing and more info here; https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests...y.jsp?ttid=280
The second issue is the frost heave and pavement degradation - our roads suck in the winter! Poor ride characteristics and possible sidewall / rim damage abound around nearly every corner. Enough said there. Another huge issue is salt on the pavement, especially the new technology salts. Unless the Corvette is your only vehicle and your daily driver, salted roadways should be avoided at all costs because of what it will do to the frame and the rest of the underside of the car. One last thing is snow on the pavement and ground clearance - nothing is goin to help you there short of a different vehicle.
Oh yeah, I know our roads suck in the winter, sometimes not much better in the summer! . It will not be driven in the snow at all and this time of year maybe only after a rain and when we get temps in the upper 40's and into the 50's like we sometimes get. That is the main reason I'm looking at A/S and not pure summer tires. I had a set of the Continental Conti Extreme Contacts on a Mustang GT I had and I liked them once I got them properly balanced - took 3 trips to the tire shop to finally get a good balance. They seemed rather finicky in that regard.
