Default I'm Back!

Hello to all my C5 brothers and sisters! I've been absent from the forum since having open heart surgery in October. The recovery continues, but everything went well. I greatly look forward to diving back into the forum and getting caught up with all of you. I have gotten to drive my C5 a few times now since the surgery. I don't know that the weather will allow much of that going forward, but I'm going to enjoy it while I can.

@MWWarlord Glad to hear all went well and you are back on your feet! Wishing you a full and speedy recovery.

And stop me if you've heard this one...

A cardiac surgeon is picking up his Corvette from an engine repair shop...

As the shop owner's mechanic fetches the car, the owner gets to talking with the doctor and says, "You know, engine repair is a lot like open-heart surgery."

"How so?"

"Well, it's the 'heart' of the machine. It's got fuel injectors like veins, an oil pump like an aorta, and pistons that pump like heart muscle."

"I see."

"It wears and tears like a heart, but without it, the whole car fails, just like a body. If it's not repaired right, a whole lotta problems happen and the engine can seize up."

"That's true," concurs the doc as the Corvette's pulled up to him.

"So how come I only charge you $10,000 to fix your engine, while a hospital charges around $100,000 for heart surgery?" asks the owner as the doc gets in.

The doc closes the door and puts the window down. "Try fixing the engine while the car's still running,"

Awesome! I was thinking about you the other day when a really clean Mag Red car pulled up next to me at a stoplight and we had a quick chat.

Glad you are well sir!

I've driven the car a total of 3 times since my surgery, and I already had a Golf GTI try to race me at a stop light

Good man! After that sort of experience I think I'd go out for a kale smoothie (instead of a milkshake) and some gnarly burnouts.

I'm a little bummed at myself for knowing this was going on but then with the hectic holiday season and my own stupid little nagging health problems I had forgotten about it. For that I do apologize Warlord. I am very happy to hear you are doing well. I knew you'd breeze right through it all.

I'll leave you with this parting meme lol.

Good to hear it went well and you're recovery is progressing. Also glad to see you back on the forum too. Pray it all goes as planned from here on out. Take it a day at a time and before you know it you'll be good as new.

Welcome back, Monty!
I missed any earlier note about your surgery but great to hear everything went well, and prayers for a complete recovery. And, as others have said, driving your supercharged C5 is great therapy so wishing you a early spring so you can get out and “therapy some more!”
