Double Din screen display
No my unit found the photo..

One of the most popular double dins is the alpine ilx-650, for a lot of reasons -- which sadly does not let you customize the start up screen (my ten year old pioneer double din did.. but other wise coudln't compare to the alpine). so depends on which unit you get

My 2770NEX boots up to a NEX logo but allows a C5 logo to be the background photo. I went with that. It's a $430 radio, but I bought it mainly for the slim chassis design and the wireless Android Auto capabilities.
You have to look at the specs of what you're buying if they allow this.
I typically find mine in a C5 LOGO Google search and click on images. There are many. Some fit the screen, some don't.
They are usually applied onto the unit through a USB port attached to the unit granted the unit has this splash screen feature.

Thank you for explaining that. I’ve seen a few that look very cool..

(*) I also installed one of those anti-glare, anti-finger print screen protectors on mine to make it easier to read when driving top down so that's why my screen has a matte-looking finish.

Do the Bose door speakers sound good with a new unit or is it worth changing the door speakers ?
I would not run the rear speakers.
Thanks.

Then started my next phase of gutting all the speakers and run new wires from every speaker location to the hatch where the new amplifier was mounted.
There is an adapter kit that fits the doors so you can mount new 6.5" speakers. 6.5" speakers drop right in the rears. No mods needed there.
Corvettes are fairly easy to run wires through.
You can also just replace the speakers if you buy the Alpine ILX-W650. It has the capability of a small 450 W amplifier to be mounted in the back of the radio and go from there.
Saves you from having to run new wires and gives you a more OEM look. I would not think that the sound is nearly as powerful and crisp as what I have in mine with a 2000W amp and a 12" Kicker sub. But you have options.

So reading you can only use a 3:5” speaker in the door.
I like rock music and like a fair amount of bass coming from my speakers any suggestions on a good speaker for the doors ?
Not sure on changing the rear speakers…..
Cheers

so why keep the stock door subs? they're horrible.. for what you put into the system, there are a ton of nice woofers out there that'll round out the sound far, far beter that those junk.
I put a pair of morel hybrid 63's, and the sound is absolutly insane.. but really, any decent 6.5 will give you much clearer mid/mid-lows than those things.

I initially wanted to keep the amplifier count down to one mono, just to drive the additional sub, but may end up adding a 4-channel for the mid's and high's. Question, what are you using to power your Morel's?

I also have a rocford fosgate p1200x1 powering a 12" sub in the cargo area.
The morels are efficient, but hungry. you can probalby get a decent 4 channel amp to power your door mids/rears/door woofers, but if your head unit is decent enough, there's really no reason you can't run the door mids/rears off the head unit, and run the morels off its own amp. I don't know what kind of head unit you have, but if it's mechless, you can also get something like the kta450 -- mind fits behind the head unit in the center stack, with room to spare.
Also, if you're looking for an amp that's really small and extremely capable of running mids/tweets, and running morels off a more beefier amp, try this: they're tiny, really high quality, get great reviews. I have one powering the mids/tweets in my '67 vette, and a larger amp for the woofers. I'm really impressed with the ACM.
(I actually used to have 8" kicker subs in the doors... and it sounded like ****, so ... dropped in the morel woofers, and am beyond blown away by how crystal clear they sound)
