The Rarest of all C5 Corvette Models: 1999-2000 Fixed Roof Coupe - Corvette Report

and personally, i specifically wanted it over a Z06.
a couple inaccuracies in there, but he certainly got the main points in highlighting its backstory.
some of the inaccuracies are:
* only 5 colors (black, torch red, arctic white, nassau blue, and light pewter)
* 2000s could get the magnesium wheels
* slightly misleading in that while you couldn't get power sport seats, many still ordered a power driver seat
not mentioned is that 2000 also opened up a couple more of the regular options like fog lights, HUD, & dual-zone a/c but (annoyingly) ditched the passenger door key.
just ran across GM's Heritage Archive the other night, which corroborate the model details & provide tons of great info about these babies!

:
- What about the 1963 z06? full on race package, not *just* an engine. vaccum brake booster, dual master, power brake w/ sintered metallic brak linings, large shocks, bigger sway bar, better motor, and iirc, bigger fuel tank.
- And the 1971 Zr-1 another total race package -- 330hp lt-1 munce m-22, f41 suspencion, j56 heavy duty brake package.
- or the 1971 zr-2 -- same as the zr-1, with a 425 hp ls6 454 big block., and the same racing additions as the zr-1
- I'd also add the 1967 L89, It's not *just* a motor, as the author implies... came with a 4 speed, f41 suspension, posi, and a few other goodies I'm sure I'm missing. In fact, the *only* reason the l89 was sold to the public (and gm intentionalyl underreported its hp rating) was due to homogenization rules -- if they didn't sell the car, they couldn't race it. they just didn't want a lot of people actually buying that monster.
Anyway, I'm sure I'm missing a few. All cars any 'vette guy would know. The author really isn't very knowledgable and not very good at fact checking.
