Well I did what all suggested And got my key in the mail today ( number 4 ) final question can a hardware store cut it or do I need to bring it to a Chevy dealer ? Thanks

After the proper key and resistance it seems the rest is traditional. I had mine cut at batteries plus i think its called. $20.00. It took much longer to cut, vs any traditional key I've had cut, so a special or different machine may, be needed. I would just call to avoid wasting a lot of gas money going way back up and time.
