I am thinking about tinting my windshield, mainly for heat savings than anything else. For those of you that have tinted your windshield, do you like it, and what %? I am looking at 75%. Thanks!
T- I've never done it and would never do it. Borrowed my nephews F250 Diesel to drive home from Wantage to Scotch Plains one night. His windshield is tinted (not sure the percent but it's not that dark). It was night time and I couldn't see for sh*t on much of 287, 24 and 78 where it's not lit well. And that was with big bright modern day truck halogens. It's a big "NO GO" in my experience & opinion. Not in the rural NJ areas anyway.
Always park in the shade or get yourself a Sponge Bob Square Pants windshield shade/deflector. Or just get a plain one if you're not feeling 7 and adventurous.

Valid points for sure, with a ceramic 75% I think I should be good, I will talk to the shop when I go on Tuesday.
I live in Cali but was stationed in various states as well. Always got my vehicles with the "Limo" tint. Back in the early days say early 70's, "Limo" was not around yet so the best we could get was like a 50% tint. Now Limo is awesome and very very dark. It definitely helps keep the inside much cooler. Cheers!!!
I have ceramics on my rear window and both sides. They make a huge difference. I also wouldn't do the windshield. For one, it's illegal in CT, the max you can get is a strip. I've driven a car with a tinted windshield and it was kinda miserable on a cloudy day.
I don’t want my primary (forward) vision restricted. Tint film not only restricts light, but also degrades the optical quality. My position has nothing to do with law, rather my responsibility to the safety of myself, my passengers, pedestrians, and those in other vehicles.
My car came with windows tinted and am about to remove it. The tint totally disrupts the clarity of the back hatch glass - I can hardly tell what kind of car is behind me and it also disrupts the auto dim function of the rear view mirror. So in the end, I would say no, don't do it.
I love how it says "for those of you who have tinted your windshield" and every reply is from people who haven't tinted their windshields.
😂
Lol! You aren't wrong. At least I've driven a tinted windshield vehicle a few hours at night, in the areas he drives , with headlights 100 times better than a C5. So I have some firsthand experience in what it's like to drive with it. I've hit 2 deer, 1 black bear and a porcupine driving at night in rural NJ without a tinted windshield (with good eyes in my twenties). So at least I have some relevant seat time to compare and have an opinion on it!

True, but not all tint is actually dark. People seem to forget that.
I would never do it however a friend in Michigan did it to his hellkitten, peeled it back off in a week after being pulled twice and not being able to see **** at night. Here in Florida I have not done the Vette yet however I did do my Grand Cherokee with 15% on the front door glass, 5% on the rest and clear on the W/S, all done in IR blocking ceramic film. The difference in interior temps was hard to believe, it made that much of a difference. I do plan on the same treatment to the Vette based on how well the IR film works on the Jeep.
