I replaced the taillights and front signal lights to LED's myself and had no problems. I had Dealership install the headlights. I have no idea what I have, I can't find the paperwork or order form. I'm confused and have no idea what I need.

 

Stop worrying about what you currently have and focus on what you want. It's not about "need" it's about preference. You have been given multiple options in the thread. Research and chose what you feel is best for your goal

 

I had back surgery a couple weeks ago and probably shouldn't be dealing with this now. Just been on my mind and looking for an answer. I'll check this all out when I recover. Thanks to all for your suggestions. Bad time to even deal with this.

 

Amazon has LASFIT LED bulbs. I then played with orientation in housing so that they don’t scatter as bad. The original halogens were beyond awful. I also ordered some 50 W load resistors, the flip headlights work correctly. I did adjust my headlights down so they don’t get in under drivers faces. It is a major improvement and I spent about 60 bucks. I plan to do sharplight innovations, or Vettelights, or maybe even the knight drive stuff in the future. I just got the car recently, did all the maintenance, brakes,tires. trying to stay in a budget for a while.

 

Yes, that is exactly what I ordered and installed. Even if you don’t drive much at night (I end up doing a lot of that coming home from work), you will definitely appreciate the improvement when you do.

I still have a few private messages from Jack I got back several years ago about issues with the car. I can understand him not wanting to deal with it now.

 

I would listen to the recommendations for High Quality stock style halogen bulb replacements. Your driveing habits do not require $600.00 replacements.
You won't spend more than $100.00 for the best ones. ( all four bulbs )
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
It will all work as normal......

That would be back to stock lights. Why won't these work.

 

The LED will work, but not well with the factory C5 housings. The reflectors and fluted lens were designed for the Halogen bulbs. If your rarely ever driving at night, they will be great.
When you install LED into them you'll get uneven dispersing of the light giving dark areas and blinding areas. Thats why guys change out the lens for LED specific type. Thats why those kits cost over $600.

Actually a number or reputable Light companies are now making bulbs that are designed to retro fit older lens. They have directional control and you index them to the housing.

Oracle Lighting Light Bulbs V5239-001

Oracle V-Series LED Headlight Conversion Kits V5240-001

These bulbs will plug right in and are made to work with older lens. They are made to convert. The only thing needed is a relay added to one head Lamp and it will let the lights go down. They need the resistance and there is no heat in using a relay. You cut the adapter wire and it plugs inline. No cutting to the car.

Note too these newer bulbs are not using fans and are able to cool with out and no additional space it taken up.

The LED bulb market is transitioning fast and most of the generic Chinese bulbs are so very outdated.

It takes a little time and study and the use of some reliable MFGs to find the right pair of bulbs and they are not $600,

I was one of the last to want LED and once I saw the new bulbs and the advancements I was ready to make the change. Often buying from Amazon is a crap shoot as you never know what you are getting from companies that you never heard of. These bulbs I listed are an American Company and they will cover the questions and help match what you want. I was even sent to one of their engineers to confirm what would work.

Note on all projection Lens you need to use a 360 degree bulb for proper lighting. I found that out when I was looking for bulbs for my truck.

We all need to get educated on these bulbs and second keep up with the advancements. Yes including myself.

Note too the experts do not all agree as not all offer the same things so if they do not offer something they may say there is nothing. Or like Oracle they told me they did not offer what needed for my truck but said others did.

So these with the 9006 will work and plug in to the LED i had installed? That's where I'm confused because I don't know what was done in regard to the harness.

 

By the video looks like they have the same connector as the stock.

 

The 9006 and 9005 are the stock bulb number and plug type. You can get the bulb in Halogen or LED in that style plug unless someone hacked it up and that is not common.
