Tasteful first mods?

Well that is a personal choice, what mods do you want to do? You happy with the sound as is? If not, catback is always a nice mod. You say tasteful, so are you leaning towards visual mods vice performance mods etc.?

i would say performance. visually i love the way the c5 is, however, i've seen sexier c5s and i am not sure why.. i believe it has to be because they are lowered in the rear. mine is stock height. do you recommend lowering it a bit in the rear only?

Bone Stock
But ….
Lowered Front and Rear on. “Shaved” Stock front bolts and Leveled with the Rear
About an inch and a half lower overall
Just Looks Right
These Cars were Designed …. with this modification in mind….
Nothing to buy. You tube it lowered on stock bolts
Just get it on a lift and you’ll sort it out

Some nice looking rims, stereo with bluetooth, clear roof, aftermarket or z06 muffler, (or going the other way) interior insulation kit for a quieter ride.
Fact of the matter is these cars are still damn good just as they are. Proof: you don't know what to do and are just fishing for ideas.
Because I track my car I have made several modifications. However on the street the car drives more or less exactly as I bought it. Actually better (quieter) since I got rid of the modified muffler. Here is "my list so far" lol:
auto (4 speed) ~275 whp
Dewitts radiator, engine & trans oil hx
Setrab transmission cooler
SKF xtracker hubs
Fox shocks
z06 rear wheels x4
AP front brake
GM titanium muffler
Corbeau sport seat
... I also have hidden bt stereo setup
Next year I am planning on "finally!" adding a bit more power such as air cleaner and ls6 manifold with an idea to get up bit over 300 whp (close to nasa tt4 limit)...
Fortunately, if you a normal sane human who you already have a purrfect car.

Here’s another for a set of quality tires and axle back exhaust. Corsa and Borla offer great no drone options for the C5. I recently put the Borla S Type II on my bone stock M6 C5 and love it. No changes in power but the fun factor increased 10 fold.

Tasteful? Llyod's mats? Better seats would be high on my list as the factory ones are terrible. Depends on what you're looking for. You want to go fast? You want to turn? You want to just generally enhance a street car?

Six speed or auto?
If auto, and you want performance mods, LT headers, 3.42 rear diff (or better), h/c or supercharger.
If six speed, MGW shifter, h/c or supercharger.

2022 C5 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
First thing has to be cat back. Get some decent sound going. A lot of choices from sporty to ear piercing. Also look into resonators to eliminate drone. Check out some YouTube videos.
If you’re into music/tech, install a flat screen double din radio/infotainment. They really look great and provide contemporary features.
Lower rear axel gears can dramatically improve performance without downgrading appearance or sacrificing driveability.
Wheels. A zillion choices that can ratchet up the overall look of the car. Check out the wheel and tire database posts for some inspiration. Link below…

I am a recent new owner. First thing I did was fix the leaks.... First "mod" was a Borla catback, then new wheels and tires due to a bent rim. So far appearance wise that is it. The best mod so far was a tune and the C6 Z06 shocks.

Advanced
Maintenance, Shifter, sway bars, shocks/ coilovers, adjust factory lowering bolts. After that the slipperly slope starts intake, long tubes, exhaust, seats, steering wheel, aero...lol

I have the A4 trans, LT headers, VR intake, cats, axle back, custom tune, Dino 340 wheel. These mods were done in 2006, 18 years later, no problems.

Drifting
Bluetooth adapter from Discount Auto Audio to connect the phone to the car.
I have had mine over a year and not sure what I am going to do. I did put on an X pipe as the car had a new ATAK Borla with the motor boat sound.
I have no interest in a supercharger. I can do a cam and heads at cost but do I want to tear into an engine that is running great and I am not going to race the car.
It has the F45 suspension. I think I will do the Bolt on Z06 or similar suspension.
I would recommend taking your time. Get the car right in all areas mechanically and then decide what to do. Do things like fix the driver seat as almost all are in need of work. I did mine first and it added much more pleasure than anything else I could do. I just bought this one for a driver with the top down. I have had plenty of fast cars in the past and a loud bright red Corvette is not one to try to blend in when the cops hear you coming.
