I'm having what seems to be the usual hazard switch issues. Intermittent turn signal function that gets resolved briefly by holding hazard switch in until relay starts to work. I have researched this site and by all accounts its most likely the switch. I'm currently deciding on whether I want to tackle this myself or have a shop handle it. If I do indeed decide to take the plunge then obviously will need to source the switch. I appears that GM has discontinued switch # 10406626. That leaves the aftermarket to fill the void. Threads pertaining to this have said to avoid the Dorman switch. I believe I may have found a Standard brand switch.
Recommendations on which switch to buy would be helpful.
If you go to a shop, you will spend atleast ~100-200 in labor for a job that is not hard. Go to youtube, there are 4-5 video's showing how to replace the hazard switch on a C5. Watch those first, if you think that is too much for you, then go to a shop, but man you'll get probed for sure! IRT to the switch itself, Rockauto has 3 choices and they all are ~22 bucks-
I had the same issue with my hazard switch, installed the hyper flash module and I have never had another problem with it. Hyper flash module has been installed for 2 years now.

Anything electrical by Dorman is JUNK so Standard would be a better choice !!

Most of the quotes we've seen over time have been several times that. It's not a terrible job, but if you could get it done for $200 that would be a terrific bargain. For me, putting the back two bolts in the glovebox alone takes the better part of half an hour.

Just so I understand....the hyper flash module bypasses the original flasher relay, correct? That allows turn signal function. How does that relate to the hazard funtion of original haz switch?

Yes, the hyper flash bypasses the original switch for the turn signals. The original hazard switch still handles the hazard lights. The hazard lights will flash rapidly if all bulbs are switched out for leds.
I recently replaced mine with one by Standard. It doesn't feel quite as nice as OE and I think the turn signals flash a bit faster but it works. However I can't say how the reliability is cause it's pretty new. I did it myself using the method where you pull the knee pad and stick your hand up through the left side of the center console. The worst part was getting it back in as it has to go in perfectly straight. It took me probably 45 minutes And that's cause I would get frustrated or tired of being in an awkward position and would take a break and drink some beer then get back to it.

I was unaware of this or I would have gone this route. I kept the AC Delco one just in case. What brand is yours and how does it install?

This is strange, I just added the Hyper Flash Harness because my front LED corner lights were causing issues. Within 30 miles, I started having issues with the turn signals having a mind of their own if they wanted to work. The hazards work as well as the lights when I remote lock, so I am assuming I am having issues with the Hazard switch, and it didn't start until after adding my hyper flash harness.
