Reversion Raceworks CarPlay/Android Auto Stereo

It came with an ext mic with a 1/8 jack but I can't see where that would plug in.
Also there are 2 acc wires, but only one on the radio harness...I assume it is used for another device?
EDIT<<<< Found the mic connection...but found 2 right angle brackets?

I stumbled into this 1.5 DIN kit (https://reversionraceworks.com/97-04...81W1baJZLLV1q7) from Reversion Raceworks with practically no reviews and couldn't find much on it here, so I'm jumping into the mix to write up some thoughts on it now that I've got it properly installed.
- There are a range of options based on your application - my Z has the Bose system and they'll package in a harness to allow use of this. You'll need to solder/splice these into the provided plug.
- This kit comes with a 3d printed custom cradle that slots perfectly into the old mounting points, reuses the screws, and fits perfectly flush with the provided head unit.
- The head unit is a relatively cheap Android based option built in China, however it does get the job done. It runs Apple CarPlay wirelessly shockingly well and will boot straight into CarPlay, connecting within 15 seconds or so after starting the car. If I wasn't running one of these mirroring options I'd be skeptical about buying this. There are also options to run a USB, which are provided in the box, and you can run CarPlay/Android Auto this way as well.
- There are practically no instructions for installation or stereo operation. At all. However once you troubleshoot your way through it works remarkably well and looks clean. I'll get some photos up when I get it out in the sun. It fits flush behind the stock bezel.
Some tips that hung me up on the install:
- There are metal tabs in the shape of triangles on the top and bottom of the head unit - you fold these up after fitting it into the 3d printed cradle to keep things in tight. No adhesive needed.
- To connect to CarPlay or Android Auto, you need to connect to Bluetooth (which I struggled with, had to turn things on/off once to get it to work) under the "Bluetooth" app, then open the "Car Link 2.0" app. This is annoying, but I've found once it's set up things work seamlessly.
Overall, at a price <$400 for the 3d printed hanger, Bose adapter, and head unit I'm really pleased. It's definitely cheaper than buying a quality double DIN dash + head unit and FAR easier than breaking out the Dremel to start making cuts.
Hopefully this helps out someone else thinking about taking the dive in to update the stereo. Not enough info out there on these units from Reversion.

I just bought the same set up and and am running into a few wiring issues. You're right, no instructions or help at all! Lol
1. Unit is not shutting off with the key. I have two brown key wired coming from new harness but no brown wires to connect to car. Orange is hot just as ot should be but can't find another wire that goes on/off w/ keys. I plugged the oem in just to check and it works fine (on/off w/ key) and the sound quality is much better as well. I have something wrong in the harness, but everything seems pretty straightforward and is hooked up properly (apparently not).
2. Blue w/ white tracer wire (for amp i believe) from harness does not have another end to it to go to the amp, it just hangs loose. Because the amp isn't getting power, sound quality is horrible.
Just wondering if you ran into this too? Thanks in advance
JD. (same initials. Lol)

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Nice....this might be just what I needed. I'll try it tonight. Thanks
Hi xxxxx,
The radio is one that we've worked directly with our manufacturer to produce. We have most of the basic specs on the website listing but we're happy to answer any specific questions you may have on it. Additionally, all of our kits utilize the same radio, so feel free to browse through the other kits to read the reviews. The '95-'02 Chevy truck kit is very popular and has the most reviews, so check that one out if you like!
I did look at reviews for their '95-02 Chevy truck kit, and the reviews are really very good.
Questions ....
1. The radio itself along with 3D printed adapter sells for $249.99.
2. If I select the Bose Adapter, it looks like they include the Axxess AXDI-VET1 adapter at a cost of $172. Crutchfield appears to sell that adapter for a little over $100. Would there be anything special with the Axxess AXDI-VET1 adapter that Revision Raceworks sells?

Very interesting to know it’s a custom build for the space. They’re great and responsive over there, just come folks trying to make an affordable option for those of us with old Chevys.

…for my birthday in February.
Here we are in June and I had not gotten a chance to install it myself. So I took it literally 4 feet over to the stereo shop next to my shop, and had them install it.
1) “Bose wiring harness/adapter/kit” they sent was not correct at all. Stereo shop had to make one from scratch.
2) 3D printed mount didn’t work at all. They had to make one from scratch.
3) The rearview camera was a giant PITFA to get setup correctly.
4) Also, the touchscreen feels “meh” like it’s cheap material and will scratch easily. I’m going to find a cut to fit screen protector to apply on it.
Is there a YouTube video that walks you through how to change icons/apps, add Bluetooth etc.?
I messed with it for about minutes so far but it was not intuitive at all.
The jury is still out on if this is going to be quality or not. I’ll play with it a bit next weekend.

Edit:
Just a total guess on my part, but thinking that the newer model could look like this.

Any guidance would be appreciated!

I swear, almost every time I post a question, I figure it out myself moments later. I found how to turn on the Amp (BIG Difference) within the settings. I didn't realize that when inside settings, there are more categories listed horizontally along the bottom of the screen. BUT, I still can't seem to find the button to toggle to turn on the lantern settings. I found how to change their color but not how to turn them on or adjust their brightness. I suspect I'll figure it out later this evening however, if you know the answer, let me know for this is my final question. For the price, this is a GREAT option IMO.
