Thanks Chris01Z for sharing! A very nice install. Looking between the Metra and Raceworks mounting, the main difference I see is that the Raceworks mount has the radio bezel set a little further back into the dash.
Yeah I just left the small one unconnected, have had no problems. Unsure about the exact colors as for the wiring goes, sorry. I believe I connected the blue remote wire to the amp wire. The pink BACK wire is for backup camera connection, if I remember correctly.
I did finally find the amp wire. It's in the connector with all the rca plugins

The Raceworks sits perfectly flush...I hated my last single din as it stuck out a bit.
My GF bought me this setup for my 2000 C5 Bose (originally single CD player in dash)…
…for my birthday in February.
Here we are in June and I had not gotten a chance to install it myself. So I took it literally 4 feet over to the stereo shop next to my shop, and had them install it.
1) “Bose wiring harness/adapter/kit” they sent was not correct at all. Stereo shop had to make one from scratch.
2) 3D printed mount didn’t work at all. They had to make one from scratch.
3) The rearview camera was a giant PITFA to get setup correctly.
4) Also, the touchscreen feels “meh” like it’s cheap material and will scratch easily. I’m going to find a cut to fit screen protector to apply on it.
Is there a YouTube video that walks you through how to change icons/apps, add Bluetooth etc.?
I messed with it for about minutes so far but it was not intuitive at all.
The jury is still out on if this is going to be quality or not. I’ll play with it a bit next weekend.
Sounds like the stereo shop was incompetent.... I had no issues with the install. The directions are a little lacking, but overall not a bad radio.......Key things that I noticed was that the illumination does not work if you use the mentioned orange wires IF you have led headlights.....I ended up connecting the orange to the spare red wire on the axxess interface. You also need to connect the blue\white from the axxess unit to the blue antenna wire on the harness. This will make the BOSE system work. If you do not do this you will have sound, but no real base or the ability to change the bass setting if you expect a difference in sound.....
Do you prefer the PAC, or did you already have on hand?
I had it on hand from the previous install, but I've had the Axxes piece in a previous vette. PAC is half the price and has one less box, so it all fits back in there easier. Those aspects make it the winner IMO.

Thanks. Do you find that it has more adjustments for the Bose system as well?
Okay so after a bit of searching this seems to be the unit, but whatever software it’s running looks to be a little bit different. All android though so not sure what’s going on there.
Reversion Raceworks re-did their installation instructions and really did a great job. Much more detailed. They also include more photos and I believe the unit below is what they use. As I read through the notes on this unit on Amazon, I saw its also compatible with the many SWC (steering wheel controls) that are available, so a guy could still have a remote volume control **** etc....
This looks like a nice low-cost upgrade. Can anyone comment on whether the display can be dimmed sufficiently at night?
Amazon reviews are generally positive about daytime brightness, but one person really disliked the dimming range, stating:
Screen Brightness Another major issue is that the screen stays way too bright at night. I prefer my screen to be really dim at night to prevent glare and this thing is so bright that it's like a flashlight shining at me. I end up just turning the screen off at night because of it. I've turned the brightness level down all of the way and it doesn't dim much at all. The LCD backlight is just too bright..
It's just one review, but I think an overly bright display would bother me at night too. I'd be interested in what others have experienced.
I have attached pics showing where to find the options for the button lights. The real setting you’re looking for is “backlight control” or something like that. If you put it on “time control” it will light up the buttons at night. From there you can go change color, etc.
also, for those looking for the amp on option that’s in settings as well under “sound” sub menu

this was a non-issue for me, I leave mine pretty low but I’ve never felt blinded by it or anything. Maybe I just don’t notice as much as some, but with it set for “10” out of 65 for brightness at night, it’s perfect for me
Here's my contribution. I just messaged RR inquired about the unit with USB ports on the front and they advised me to hold off on any purchase. The response stated the updated/upgraded version, V2, with external USB ports should be available in a few weeks. I'll be waiting, as it would make a nice Christmas or Birthday gift.
Update; The current unit is no longer in stock and the message from RR is V2 should be out soon. No specific date. Look like it might be a Birthday gift instead of Christmas.
The New Version is listed on the site but has not been released. You can pre-order. I'm waiting until the Item is actually in stock.
Many referenced the lack of instructions. The site now has links to some pretty good instructions with illustrations.
Wish EVERYONE a Merry CHRISTMAS.

That raises some interesting questions. RR list theirs as a 1.5 Din, but the diagonal dimensions are the same. I know you can buy the Bose harness (Axxess AXDI-VET1) $70 cheaper than RR offers it. They are also charging extra for the back-up camera that appears to be included in your link. Almost looks as if RR is charging $300+ for the 3D mount.
Think I'll message them for a quote on the support/mount.

I've looked at tons of radio solutions for my C5 - mostly for use as a backup camera. From my perspective, each solution is always about the fit. I've owned consoles from VettNuts and Metra. I also owned a Joying radio. While I've not purchased a Reversion kit yet, it appears to be the best fitting installation and also requires no cutting. Nothing against any other members, but I'm just not comfortable taking a sawzall to my console. RR also provides an excellent set of instructions. I understand you can buy the harness cheaper, but for the kit itself, I'll gladly pay his profit margin for a nice, clean, and easy install.
