I'm going with "home button", not really a port or physical button as it looks like a capacitive touch type of thing.

RR states The unit provided has specific specs and not the same as the one seen on Amazon. They also stated the units are available now and they are shipping, and just FYI the from USB will accept a stick for externally stored music.
I provided a link to this thread, perhaps they will join and we can get first-hand information.

Here's the announcement from Reversion Raceworks on one of the Facebook C5 groups. Note the slight differences from the Amazon unit.

Default Interference?

I have the Gen 1 version, purchased and installed a few months ago - it’s great (except the single pair of L/R channel RCAs for those who want to do a custom install), lack of a volume **** (now on the Gen 2) and an issue with apple carplay connectivity…

Without fail - my Gen 1 unit will lose CarPlay connectivity at the same intersection near my house. No doubt this means interference is to blame - but it means the HU is very susceptible (None of my other cars have an issue).

The bigger problem is that the Gen 1 head unit does not have protocols in place for reconnecting correctly in that scenario - causing you to need to either disable and reenable WiFi (away from the source of interference) or completely reset the unit before it will connect again - EVERY time. It can also happen elsewhere if there’s enough interference. I’ve considered replacing the HU as a result. I just don’t want a 1Din or 2Din

I did ask Reversion about upgrading. The upgrade program is a bit limited - I think I’d get something like $60 toward the Gen 2 and I’d need to send in the Gen1. I mentioned in my request my issue with WiFi/dropped connections and asked for advice, and they replied that the “Gen 2 radio is a complete redesign with updated internal hardware for much better connectivity and performance, improved cooling, and new software, and it shares very few components with the Gen 1 unit,” which is reassuring.

I’ll probably let a few of you guys try out the Gen 2 before I upgrade lol - please report back if y'all have any connection issues!!!! I’d hate to be in the hole over $600 on headunits that I have to re-replace. It’s a great HU otherwise and I really want it to work!

Edit: Decided to mess with the HU today. Discovered an option under settings>sound>LOUD. Clicked it - suddenly the RCAs received a significant boost in voltage. The whole sound stage expanded. If using the high level outputs, there’s also an “amp on/off” option on the same menu, which is off by default.

I'd be a little skeptical also before doing a trade of my Gen 1 for a Gen 2. On the CarPlay problem you mentioned, I'm assuming that your problem is happening with Wireless CarPlay. Do you have an option for wired, and if so, have you tried it?

Correct, my problem has been with wireless CarPlay. I have not tried wired - there is a USB that’s a bit tricky to place (it’s from the back of the HU). That’s a reasonable thing to try though. I’ll try to route it somewhere and give it a shot. Not ideal but it’s a for fun car

I experienced this issue this morning. It never re-connected to wireless CarPlay after the initial failure to connect, and I didn't have the attention span to mess with it. It did stay off the entire ride, which was a bit frustrating.

Ugh, sorry that happened to you. The quickest fix I’ve found when on the road is to quickly exit Apple CarPlay on the head unit by hitting the home button on the left side of the head unit (above the volume controls). Swipe your finger from the top of the screen, down to pull up the quick options menu, and then hit the Wi-Fi icon. Nine times out of ten, this will cause the head unit to reconnect to Apple CarPlay, though with a mild delay. If it doesn’t work the first time, try again in about a minute after you’ve moved away from the interference. If it still is resisting connection, you’ll need to hit the reset button on the far right of the unit, which unfortunately does reset some of your settings despite what reversion stated online (namely, your radio time and date). Hope that helps!

Default Clock problems

Have had radio installed since June. For some reason the time needs to be reset every time the vehicle is turned off. Think it is wired correctly since i do not lose any programmed stations. I have pulled the radio out and checking the wiring. Sent pic to Reversions and they think it is wired right.. They have been super help full in trying to solve my problem. they want to see a pic of my time settings. Will do when i re-install radio. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Rich

Yes, this is another issue I have faced - though keeping track of it is tough since i have to occasionally reset the unit due to the CarPlay issues. It’s an annoying problem since the button backlight adjusts based on the time of day. Trying to control the system in darkness isn’t ideal

Finally got around to trying the CarPlay wired. Routed the USB from the back of the unit through the change holder holes.

Worked great. Even if connected via wireless, once plugged in, it switches to wired. No issues at all. I think I’ll try it wirelessly and plug it in when experiencing interference and see if that clears up the connection issues without resetting it. @SPLATT .

Thanks for jumping in the thread! You guys made a great product, and even though I have some issues with CarPlay connectivity on my Gen 1 head unit, it sounds like the generation 2 alleviates those issues along with some others (volume kn0b for the win!). I’ll prob upgrade/replace my HU for those two things alone.

In regards to the instructions, I’m a bit surprised to see people say they had difficulty/a lack of instructions. The PDF document was very helpful, and I had the system wired in minutes - perhaps their complaints were prior to the PDF?

Default Axxess

It looks good but it seems Revision is charging $170 for the Axxess AXDI-VET1. Crutchfield has it for $104. May get the radio but buy the VET1 from Crutchfield

I am replying to everyone. My dam reversion raceworks radio works great but cannot keep time. Have tried many things that were suggested but seem to be some relation to constant power. Am taking it out for the third time and throwing it in the trash. Will sell cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you tested the power with the ignition off to insure the unit has power on the proper wire, for constant power? Curious that it would work well in all other areas, except that. Sounds as if the constant power may somehow have been tied into the accessory/ignition on circuit.
Please define cheap.
