About a year ago a got a ticket for 115 in a 65 on 280 in San Jose.
However, it was an estimate as he didn't have me on radar and was stopped on the side of the freeway BSing with another officer when I came screaming by.
I don't rememer the CVC code but it was "Excessive speed 100MPH+" which in California is a 2 pointer on your DMV record, however it was an infraction not a misdeameaner.
To make a long story short, I hired a Traffic Lawyer and it was reduced to speeding, a 1 pointer.

Hey, wait a minute. There is a speed limit? Seems the speed is free for all around here, 85 in some places for cruise. North of LA around 90+ in some places. HOWEVER, I think 99+ is likely to attract serious attention in any places you get caught. :eek:
