Jackass in a pickup drifted into my lane and I steered to keep from getting into a crash with him and clipped the curb.
Gave the guy a blast on the horn, he flipped me off and kept going, weaving over the lane dividing line.
Guess I need a dashcam for the car.
Haven't felt any ill effect from the hit, need to see how bad the wheel looks after I clean it off.
I learned long ago to be defensive. Avoid being in blind spots or to limit time in spaces where you have no out.
I have driven low cars for 40 years and often people just don’t see you. So it is up to you to know if you can be seen and or limit time iun closed in lanes where options are few.
Low cars are like motorcycles and you have to watch out for yourself as the other idiots won’t.

Something something straight pipes save lives. I definitely drive defensively but honestly a lot of times I think it is actually safer to be a little loud and brash as people will pay attention to you being annoying or interesting a lot more than otherwise in my experience. The car is less than 4ft tall off the ground for most of us so it really CAN be hard to be seen sometimes.

I drive for a living, and do drive defensively, but a clown like the idiot in the pickup, drifting over the line as he passes you is pretty much unavoidable.
And, it wasn't that he didn't see me, he was passing me, and kept on weaving over the dividing line as he drove off.
Get them off the paint! Ask me how I know... They love Metallic Red also.
Oh, I know all about what love bugs do to the paint when they get smashed onto it, all of those in the pic are live ones that landed on it after I parked it.
