I would say that if you're driving the car any kind of aggressively, probably no one is investing in C5 or C6 seats. They're pretty much trash and offer not lateral support. For those driving the cars and having fun.... I've heard a lot of comments about the Corbeau A4s but none so colorful as yours. They're not some custom Caravaggios, but the price reflects that accurately. I try to steer anyone dead set on C5 seats or rebuilding them firmly towards buying C7 seats. I'm sitting in my basement in a C7 Comp seat typing this oddly enoug, having just boxed up an LPE TT kit. So weird. But for the money....? I'm sure other options exist but the A4s deliver when you start hitting curves and corners. I was fully going to keep mine except for a back injury from a wreck and resultant pain. So I invested in the Comps here, being electric and fully adjustable to be more sure I can comfortably drive my build. That is, to me at 5'11 and about 250 right now in fully middle aged fatness, the A4s remain awesomely comfortable. Because the foam does adjust to you over time. But my fear was that with my lower back for a long time being extremely sensitive to angles and yielding high pain that the more fine adjustments of the electric rack would be better for me than the Corbeau slider and the washer angle I set the A4 seat at which has never presented an issue for me.
The Comps all but equate to the A4. Great leg, hip and flank support. My shoulders fit these better than the A4s. The A4s might have more thigh lateral support.
Hey @Tusc , what would you consider a good price for C7 comp seats? I’m looking to upgrade mine next year and am willing to wait till a good deal pops up.
The Comps are pricy. I have seen them go for 2000 to 4000, though most are in the 3000 to 3500 range. Shipping is often another 800 depending on distance and carrier due to bulk.
There are also many clones where guys order everything for the seat back to make a Comp since the lower seat is physically the same between base model and comp. However, the foam is firmer and the lower seat civer has 4 panels ibstesd of 3. I have posted images showing this on one of the main C7 conversion threads.
As I said, these seats were an investment for me. I would never otherwise spend supercharger money on seats vs my already good Corbeaus. I just didn't want to finish a project and find that I couldn't drive it much.
The other thing with Comp seats is that when they pop up you need to catch them. They sell within hours. Finding a pair which are a simple color is hard such as black leather with black stitching. GM has added interior color options with the C7 and C8 as a way to allow the yuppies to "express themselves" and so they have. You can often find a good looking car now with a godawful interior combination thanks to this. Also don't be afraid of damaged seats as most of the skins and parts are still available.
Personally, I think Kalahari is the classiest Comp color. They're extremely rare used. I lucked out with a mint pair of black/black.

I remember a review of the 2006 Z06 being titled something like "4 great tires and 2 awful seats"
For the record, I don't think the C7 Comp Seats are worth the price. The base C7 seats are damn good. Honestly for a street car you have to get in and our of all the time, I love em.
I'm sure the base seats are decent since the bottoms are similar. Half the battle is just keeping your butt from sliding out on the C5 seats so if that is solved then they're great. The Comps have a medium size lateral support for your torso though, similar to the Corbeau A4 dimensionally. My being used to curvy roads and driving on coilovers and aggressive street pads and tires, and again trying to anticipate the need of spinal support and comfort, I took the pill for the Comps. The more I can avoid flexing the lower spine the better.

A good friend of mine sold a pair of C8 Comp seats not long ago for $5500 and had people practically standing in line to buy them. Crazy, huh.
I love my base C7 seats, too.

Wow! If only they'd get in line the same way to grab my Lingenfelter Twin Turbo kit! Or the blower kit I have yet to pull!
I bought Red 2017 Z6 seats for my C5 convertible, easy install 4 nuts, made a temp harness in about 20 minutes. Fit great wide bucket, comfortable back.
How much are the Evo's after buying the mounts and sliders?
Plus, C7 seats are electric.
Look around and you may find a decent deal on the C7 seats, I picked mine up for $450 for a pair of base C7 seats, and they do use all the stock hardware.
Wow!!! Just $450 ?
I have been looking around for a while, mostly ebay & FB marketplace.
Didn't find anything on FB, however on eBay the price range is $1800 - $2500 plus $300 shipping.

Yeah, I got lucky, they were on marketplace, the guy had bought them for some project, started to strip all the wire harnesses and modules out of them, then decided they were too heavy still, and sold them cheap, I had to reassemble them. He had a lot of callers on them, if I hadn't jumped on them right off I wouldn't have gotten them.
Ebay had gotten out of hand price-wise for Corvette salvage parts, everyone thinks there stuff is dipped in gold.
But, I have come across a few other sets of seats for less than a grand on marketplace.
I put an evo x in the drivers seat. 10 x better then stock on everything besides comfort Does work with factory hardware. I got mine used for 400 with rails. Unbolted the stock seat and tossed it in. It won’t go all the way back with c5 belts did a c6 belt and haven’t looked back. Also a bigger guy 6ft 265 seat it comfy for me all day even on track. But stock was more “daily comfortable “
I'll be honest. If those were near me where I could get them without having to deal with shipping costs I would bring them home. I love the Kalahari finish.
They have been for sale, for 14wks. Seems a little strange.
Yeah, in all the searching I've done the last couple of months, it is the first time I saw them, marketplace is screwy like that.
They showed up as "outside my search area" even though they are only about 30 miles from my house.
I really like that color, looks pretty good in a yellow car, but if I had found a set like those back when I found mine, I would then have to change my steering wheel for one with tan stitching!

Question for the group - I know I will lose telescopic and memory when I remove the seats. Is there anyway to get the telescopic back without using the existing module? Having a hell of a time removing the rail from the seats that I'm selling and want to avoid ruining the leather.

Why do you need to remove the rail from the seat?
Module and harness comes out of the seat base without removing the rails.
But, yes, there is an alternative to using the original seat module to retain the column/mirror memory, not sure how to do it but there is a way to wire up a relay(s) to make it work.

ah ok. How would I do it? Lots of wiring going on and just don’t want to mess something up for the buyer. Do you know where I could find a write up?
