They have always said that when the engineers were tasked with designing the C6 they needed to improve on the C5 biggest weaknesses; headlamps, sound/heat insulation and seats. I did the full Vettenuts precut base kit in my '99 FRC and yes it took some time and effort, but it was well worth it. My wife and I were both amazed at the difference. I also use a trunk partition too. Makes me wonder how quite it would be with their premium 2-layer kit, maybe like say something on the XLR level of quite?
I also have a 99FRC. I started with Dynamat (about 80% covered) then the Vettenuts pre-cut kit, then I got a roll of just black rubber with adhesive on one side that i added to all flat surfaces. It was actually a bit too thick in places. Had to elongate the holes in the seat bases so I could move them both away from the tunnel 1/4 inch or so they were rubbing so bad. I also have the trunk divide. It seemed to make a Hell of a difference when I did it in 2020. This past summer I took a couple long trips on the Interstate with the cruise set at 80 - 85. I had to put in ear plugs and crank up the stereo! But I think the problem is the 6+ yr old Michelin zero pressure tires with 44,000 miles on them. They still have decent tread but they were nice and quiet when new. I know summer only tires would be a LOT quieter but I hope to make another cross country trip next spring and I like having the ZPs on there for that, so I might be getting another set of them. Anyone else have an opion on run flat tires & noise?

Run flats = tire noise
Your tires are just about aged out. Treat yourself to some nice Continental or Michelin non-run flat tires for your next trip. Carry a small 12v tire pump and a tread patch kit. Quiet, great traction, smooth ride (for a Vette)
Not just run flats. I recently replaced my 9-year-old Michlin pilot sports (I know I was pressing my luck) with new set of Michlin PS. I cannot believe how much quitter the car is now. Old rubber compounds get hard and transmit vibrations and road sounds straight to your ears.
