I put my $12 ambient light sensor in yesterday and a friend turned on the feature last week with a Tech 2. It works like a champ. I missed the feature when going from the vert to the Z but its also nice to know that I can turn it off if I wanted to as well. :cheers:

I thought the Z06 had the ambient light sensor already, for entry during night. When I unlock my car at night the lights flash, they don't during the day. Looks like it has a sensor on the left side of the dash? I have a 2002.

Some do and some dont according to the reading that I have done. I have a 2003 and a buddy has a 2002, neither of them had it. There is a sensor in the passenger side of defroster vent in the center of the dash and there is a spot for one on the drivers side. The one on the passenger side is the light load sensor and that works with the HVAC system and apparently the HUD as well. It sticks up over the vent. The one on the drivers side mounts in the vent as well but sits below it and is for the headlights only as far as I know. My car did not come with one but the harness plug for it was easily accessible by removing the hush panel under the dash on the drivers side as was mentioned earlier in this thread. However, I did have to have someone help my grab it from the top as I snaked my hand through the birds nest under the dash to get the plug to come out of the vent. But it only took about 10-15 mins tops to install it and the hardest part was getting it up to the vent hole.
