I refuse to put a front plate on my car. I have only been pulled over once for not having a front plate in my 94 Integra and it was after midnight, I only got a written warning.
I have a front plate as I don't want to waste an officer's time stopping me :nono: when he can writing tickets for speeding, unsafe lane changes, tailgating, etc. :seeya
I understand Law is the Law and everyone should be equal under the law.
So WTF Vipers and other exotics legally ride without any front license plates and then why everyone else should have one?

The problem with these front plate discussions is that all everyone ever does is whine and complain. That won't help change the law. If you want to change it maybe people need to start talking about who to contact in public office and what solutions can be done. Show the states how they can save money by not having front plates and they will change it. But just pointing out that you don't like the looks of it on your Corvette will get you nothing. In fact, some drivers think we are above the law because they have to put one on. We need organized common sense solutions, otherwise this is all a waste of time.
Now remember when you argue your points to your state government, they will remind you front plates are used as targets for laser speed guns. And that brings in revenue. You have to show how they can save more money by not having the plates, which may be hard since inmate labor makes them.
It may just be better to get GM to design the front ends for plates to be easier on the eyes.
On either end it's all about the money. If nothing changes then in my opion put the plate on or pay the fines. Myself, I prefer to keep my money in my pocket to use on mods. I guess if you've got lots of money then keep paying those fines. Your defiance won't change anything that way.
The Corvette was designed with a place for a front plate, that's where it goes. Most cars aren't designed for a front plate and the dealerships add a plate holder, they also stick out blocking air to the engine. As much as we hate front plates at least ours are designed for them.
I would love to see front plates abolished but I won't whine about it here or cry about getting a ticket over this issue.
I also don't care for the looks of a front plate on our cars. But, after being pulled over seven times for no plate (all warnings), I decided WHY give them a reason to pull me over if I am otherwise not doing anything. It's our law and I run with one.
Here in southern california they are installing cameras in innersections that take pictures if you run reds or turn illegally. Due to this they are really cracking down on front plates i guess because the rear shots aren't always ledgable.
I have mine installed... well sort of... it is installed in the factory location BEHIND the cover. :D
If I get pulled over and questioned/yelled at by a cop that loves to enforce the law I can take out my screw driver and resolve it on the spot. It probably won't save me from getting a ticket but it won't ruin my night.
The law is the law and the risk is worth the reward...
As a practical matter, vettez0six has the correct response to these "shakedown" tickets. When I was younger I used to take defensive driving to resolve ticket issues, along with paying the mickey mouse fees Texas assesses for this solution. Now, being a little older, I take every ticket to court. This is a bit of a hassle having to show up to be arrained, and then again on the trial date. Always request a jury trial. Here in Houston, it seems prosecuters are embarrased to take a traffic case to a jury. Seems like there are too many potential jurors who have been victimized by traffic stops who would perform Texas style jury nullification. Count me as one!
