Thank God, We here in Florida do not have the front plate law, otherwise I would be broke. I would simply refuse to display it. :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:
OMG not yet another front plate discussion. :cuss If you don't like it get the law changed. But whining about it here won't get rid of it. I hate front plates on the Corvette but it is the law and I will abide by it. I also hate giving the state more of my money. As with other cars, the Corvette could have been designed to look better with a front plate. That is not an impossible task.
got pulled over by a cop one time for speeding...i just stood there while he wrote the ticket and when he was done, he asked why i was so patient. my reply was, "the way i see it, if you can afford the car, you can afford the tickets"...
This is a forum, post whatever you like, If someone complains at your topic and takes the time to complain at your post, they have too much time on there hands.
I got pulled over one time since march of this year. Got off with a warning. The fine is 75 here in NY and I figured I would be willing to pay 150 in this appearance mod, (2 tickets). I have yet to pay any money. I spend lots of money on waxes, tire shine, the car... Whats $150 bucks a year...
I have a friend who is a cop, and he does not want to give tickets for this alone, as he said he gets chewed out by wasting his time, but if you have a secondary reason then you get 2 tickets, or a DWI for example if you are drunk. He said he gives everyone a warning, if this is his only infraction he can find. Basically no front plate is an invitation to get pulled over.

Since this was directed at me, let me respond. I complained because as I said this topic has been discussed over and over again. Instead of rehashing the same old topic why not just join one in session?
Eveyone agrees the Corvette looks much better with the front plate off. Some of you will get tickets and pay fines for not putting on the plate. Could GM stop this type of a discussion by designing a plate friendly nose (and make it look good),.....you bet!
Ten times!
I am curious...is there something else going on with your car or you that begs the police to pull you over?
Like maybe a marijuana leaf decal or Britney Spears in the car?
No harm intended...just wow ten times for no plate only.

actually, I was not directing this right at you, but I see more and more people get bashed just for starting a new topic. (nothing against you Shylor) I just hate being afraid to post a topic that may have been beaten to death before. I just feel that everyones corvette education may be at a different level. For example, I know there have been 100 posts on headers, but I probally never would remember all of them, and may want to start a new post if I have a question...

I have thought about it, and I am curious how do you take a yea by yea metal plate with numbers on it, in different colors, and make it look like it's a part of the sleek design of a sports car.
BTW did you ever notice that when an officer needs to retrieve your plate number, he generally walks to the back of the car. Just a personal observation. :seeya

Well just so you know, the reason for that is personal safety. The officer wants your back to him.
You have a car that will do at least 171mph. I doubt seriously if you drive the speed limit limit all the time. Do you REALY care about license plate laws?? :D
After nearly 3 years I have yet to be stopped for any reason including no front license plate. Almost all C4s, C5s and F bodies run around here with no front plate. The local police including sheriff and HPD just don't care about this issue. Only the **** DPS (state troopers) love to enforce this law in Texas. At this rate, I can afford this appearance mod as well from my experiences so far.
Look....I have been pulled over numerous more times for that damn front plate. Yes, it's embarrassing, but I do fight the fight and get my point across!
I show up in court with a picture of the front end with the dang plate on and case dismissed! Simple as that! I refuse to put on that ugly front plate! HPD out here has nothing better else to do than harrass people!
