i have long tube headers w/balance tube, no cats and no mufflers. All stock tubing from the headers back. Yes its loud & Yes i like it loud! I was thinking of possibly adding some cheap glasspacks to it, just to add a little mildness, but it still be really highflow with little restriction! But i dunno if i will ever do it? i really dont think its too bad going down the highway, but i guess it just depends on your taste?
IMHO--->its like a freemod! For a poorboy like myself, i think its perfect. Loud, highflow, weight savings and its nearly free
Oh yea->SLP loudmouths are simply a $500+ version of the "catback" i have! Why pay more
Hi TomsZ06,
What kind of exhaust tips do you have on your exhaust. I looke don JCWHITNEY, but unable to locate any tips I liked? Like you, I will not have mufflers.
Thanks again,
Monarchz06.
The loudest system would be LT headers w/o cats and a set of straight pipes. The car will sound like a TransAm race car  Very cool but not really driveable on a daily/extended basis. As for catbacks the Loudmouths are the loudest, but look like crap. Next are the stingers, w/ the BB PRT's a close third. I chose the Stingers for looks and great sound (see sig pic). I loved the sound of the Loudmouths but they looked so bad. Last weekend I had my Z w/ stingers next to my friend Todd's coupe w/ PRTs. The stingers are deeper and only slightly louder IMO, both are great systems, but I prefer the round tips on the stingers. BB just came out w/ a new system as fdupny has said, but I've never heard those. Good luck
i'm gonna say the loudest cheapest exhaust is the slp loudmouth. Also they have just recently redesigned this system, which makes it easier to install.
If you want loud just have your local muffler shop fabricate a system for you. They can rmove your mufflers and do straight pipes. i did this w/ my hardtop and used Daytona style tips. It was LOUD and only cost $100 bucks. Kaley
My straight pipes were the loudest system I have ever heard with any aftermarket exhaust; but I've never heard any H/C, LTs and straight piped cars, which would clearly be louder.
OK, I now vy for the most unpopular winner. Why would anyone really give a s--t about the loudest exhaust contest?? Obviously a lot of fellow forum members.
To me, it's the proof in the pudding that counts the most. Anyone can make a stock Mustang GT sound loud...but the proof is not in the pudding. They're a loud putz-mobile. Anyone can do the same with a stock Vette.
It's performance that counts. Hell with the rest of the fluff.
Driving theses cars is all about stimulating your senses and producing a feeling of enjoyment and a muscle reaction called a smile. Personall I get this through sight, touch, and SOUND. The sound of these cars going through the gears at WOT and a perfectly matched downshift make me get tingly and it's the pure and simple reason I love cars... they make me feel good and bring me enjoyment. Some like gadgets, some like clothes, etc... I like cars. And lound and nasty just adds to the fun of it IMHO!!! :auto:
I bought my Z for exactly what it is. When I mod, it will be the total car that I build from the ground up, my way. Big block Cobra replica is next. Now, no one can say they aren't fun. 175mph, no way. Fun, LOUD, you bet!!
Could not say it better man. IMO from what I heard at Funfest with a stingers, loudmouths and B&B bullet right next to them the B&B was louder at idle and the same at WOT. :iagree:
