Default Replacing Nose/Deck Emblems On Z06

I never liked the painted silver emblems of my 2003 Z06. And with the problem of paint on the front one coming off, I have decided to replace them with 2002 black emblems. I think it will look so much better against my Yellow paint. I will attempt to also insert the 50th portion of the 2003 emblem into the 2002's. I also noticed though that the right flag in the 2002's emblem is red and the 2003's is a burgundy. Not sure if I'm going to change that.

GM should have made the 2003 emblems chromed, not painted silver. Or used a solid silver plastic.

 I think the silver looks cheap. Makes me glad I have an 02 and didn't wait for the 03. But then I see the discounts on the 03's and say hmmmm.

I didn't care for the silver the first time I saw it. I like the black emblem with the insert much better. Nice job!

It's not done yet. I just set the black one over the silver one. I figure it shouldn't be to hard to do though.

Yup! MidAmerica has them. I swear they came out with them days after I got my replacement stock rubber jobs installed. I couldn't find them on the website but they were in the most recent catalogue I received (153H) page 5-7.

They don't actually show the 50th, they just list Chrome Emblem for '97-'03. Hopefully they know '03 is 50th Anniversary. If not, just save your 50th inserts from stock. $70 for the set of two deck emblems in chrome. They have gold too.

Let us know if you get them, love to see the pics.

Very cool with the 50th insert.

I think the black against the yellow is better looking.

However, I prefer the grey badging against my '03 black on black.

Great job!

After much thought, I feel like the black emblem would look good on my car, especially due to the fact that I have black insert letters on the front and back.

Took the silver emblems off today, they came of very easily and weren't damaged in the process. And Just as I supected, the 50th insert is not attached to the emblem but rather it's stuck on with body adhesive tape. I wonder if you can buy just the 50th insert? I'm off to Napa to get some the the adhesive tape, I'll post more pictures of the process later.

Shylor,

Since you have the ugly silver ones pulled......... how about trying a couple of touchup paints from Autozone or NAPA and finding us something that we can use?? You can try the paints on the backside of the emblem, so you can keep the front side all nice.

I really like my silver emblems!! Just need a dab of paint to make them perfect.

I got an extra '03 deck emblem and the 50th side emblem at the beginning of the model year. I put the 50th emblem on the plexiglass insert of my partition. The 50th emblem is metal while the deck emblem is a soft plastic. I'm glad I bought both when I did because they both have gone up in price $15+.

I wish GM had chromed these silver plastic things. Just one more small example of how GM really didn't care about making the anniversary special.

On the other hand, I LOVE THIS CAR. :yesnod: Boy do I feel conflicted. :boxing

Still having fun,
John
