You can take a supra(any other car for that matter) and w/ unlimited resources make it faster than any of the exotics. Question is, why would you want to? personally I'd rather drive an enzo or GT2, than a modded of econo-box.
A good number of automobile "aristocrats" look down nose at the Corvette - linking the car with the stereotype gold medallion, hairy chest lounge lizard type. There was a recent article in Corvette Magazine about the perception of the vette as an unrefined and vulgar sports car - and most of the car buffs interviewed would not consider owning a vette, even after having driven a C5.
Until I bought my Z06, I had always wanted a Ferrari - now I am very satisfied with the value and performance I have in the Z.
Given unlimited funding, I am not so sure that a Ferrari is the top rung of the ladder anymore.

Yup , But ,Ferrari seems to raise the bar every year, styling and Performance!
I love this performance competition. We always win!!( The consumer)
This car will be much closer in performance to a Z06 - the factory listed 0-60 spec is 4.0 sec.
And, it's only $250K

Happy New Year mqqn,
To me thats what its all about, everyone stretching their imaginations from drawing board to manufacturing to an affordable, useful, product that can be used and enjoyed by the masses and bring pleasure and convenience to humanity.
" Cheapening the cost of necessities and conveniences of life is the most powerful agent of civilization and progress."
Thomas Elliott Perkins (1888)
Albeit, a Z06 and Ferrari are not cheap or a necessity but, the advances from racing technology trickle down to the everyday driver. I.E. disc brakes, dual master cyl. etc.. :yesnod: :yesnod:  :steering:
There's a reality show on MTv called "Rich Girls". One of the rich girls is Jamie Hilfiger, daughter of clothing designer Tommy Hilfiger. In one of the episodes, Jamie and Tommy go to the Ferrari dealership in Greenwich, CT where Tommy purchases an Enzo in red. Tommy is happy to hear that Ralph Lauren did not get one. He also comments on how the window cranks in the Enzo are "cheap"... :smash:
Have any of you raced against a Modena in the street?
The amazing thing about the Enzo is its aerodynamics it generates over 1,500 lbs of downforce so i think no car can outhandle it not even a Carrera GT....
Well from what i have heard the Z06 does not generate downforce it generates some lift.....
The C6 generates less lift but i don't know if is less enough to generate some downforce we will have to wait until those lift coefficient numbers are available...
Still as Hill said they could have made the C6 to generate more downforce but at the cost of fuel economy...
The Enzo i think is the closest thing we have to an F1 car for the road is what you call a ground effects car....
The only Corvette that could generate as much or more downforce than the Enzo would be the C5-R.....

The Enzo has a variable retractable wing, which extends from 37 to 159 mph.
At 124 mph, the Enzo generates 758 lb. of downforce. The maximum downforce is generated at 185 mph at 1709 lbs.....
The retractable wing past that speed retracts, lowering the downforce at 1290 lbs. to help acheive it's 218 mph top speed.
Italians simply know how to create an exotic car. I would love to get my **** smoked by an Enzo, it'd be a rush to say the least. I'd snag me a big gulp (auto) and watch that thing fly. Afterwards of course I'd have to see if he/she would wanna race again, but this time I'd snag my Ducati 996 so it'd be Italian vs. Italian and of course so I'd win.
tlaselva,
Happy New year.
Several years ago I read an article on the Ferrari F-50 , it stated that at a certian speed , the F-50 created so much down force that it could be driven inverted on an inverted road and not fall off!!! I will research that article, I know thats what I read because I was very impressed with the physics of that accomplishment. :auto:
I'd snag my Ducati 996 so it'd be Italian vs. Italian and of course so I'd win.
I wouldn't count on it... Equally skilled rider/driver, my money would be on the Enzo. More so on a longer course, as the Enzo has a much higher top speed than your 996. Sweet bike though!
Also, for what it's worth, anyone who has the financial means to purchase an Enzo, also has enough to buy several LPE 427 TTs to use as daily drivers. That being said, they probably drive S600's modded by RENNtech...

I was looking at some data from the other 2 supercars and they don't close to the Enzo.....
The Carrera GT top downforce is about 800 plus pounds and the MB SLR at 150 mph with its rear spoiler adjusted at 30 degrees generates 270 pounds......
So the Enzo is the downforce king......

:iagree: On the Nurburgring we had cars and bikes at the same time, very few bikers were faster than me when I was a newbie. Bikes just aren't as fast in the curves as cars. That's the one big disadvantage they have the weight to tire area ratio, and also a car can oversteer around a corner.
