[Z06] Z06 Tires...Replacement Recommendations
I am just thinking out loud. What do you think?

I now have a full set of Kuhmo MX's thanks to people on this forum and they are great! A lot less expensive to boot! Got mine for $900 installed and I've heard even less expensive numbers here. You can get them shipped to your home for about $770, then you have to get them installed.
All this typing makes me want to ride! See ya!

In my opinion the the OEM tires are great in the wet, but bad in standing water. As long as isn't raining hard they are fine. I drive mostly in the dry or damp, so I am thinking more about replacing with the Goodyears, but I am by no means solid on that decision. I doubt if any of you would say you drive more in standing water than dry, or damp.
The F1 SC doesn't sacrifice much for dry handling. Other tires, like the Kumhos, Toyo, Michelins, probably sacrifice some dry traction for better all around handling.
Also agree with you that the F1 SC is good in damp conditions where channeling water isn't a factor.
But whether this is important to you may depend on where you live. I too have lived in the South for the last three years, and as said, when it rains here, it rains. 4 inches in an hour isn't uncommon.
I raced on my Kumho Ecsta MXs at 100+ MPH at Gateway International Raceway (St. Louis) last summer in a pouring rainstorm. The Kumhos worked very well. The other T1 cars were on Goodyears that weren't working in the heavy water and I finished a lap ahead of them.
But, if the track was only damp vice wet with standing water, it would've been closer... but I still would've won. :D

Hands down the best dry weather tire going.
I don't think you will find anyone who will argue that point.
Look at this survey. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/max.jsp
They score 11th but they score the highest in the 3 categories I am interested in.
#1 in dry traction, cornering stability, and steering response.
No other tire scored better in any of those categories.
I could care less about any of the other categories.

FYI - Ford is putting them on the new 500 HP 500 TQ GT.
I'd like to try these next but haven't seen them in Z06 sizes yet. Are they available?
Shame, because it is the real deal, and I'm not a fan of GY rubber either,
but they got that tire right.
